Good luck to Ian, I always liked him, he was very approachable and open, he may have his work cut out with one or two Levred fans though!

"Well God give me strength.
Here we are with a new manager proclaiming the start of a new era and extolling the strength of Tanners potential - Leatherhead Ad.
Well pardon me, but Tanners are at the level they are because that is what they are. We exist in an area which is Rugby 1st and despite having many large companies in the town they are not interested in sponsoring the Tanners. We still have fans pledging money to keep the team going and the bar opens Saturdays only. Extra income is sure to happen, but nobody has the nous or unpaid time to implement it. In reality we are probably a mid table team based upon respective budgets in our league and will never generate enough income to sustain a Conference south side. Sutton are bottom because they have no money and they generate far more income than we ever will and have a ‘boom boom’ club as well. If we get to the Ryman Premier we will struggle and the finances will come under pressure so what is the point of a new manager proclaiming what is not sustainable.
Also, how does Tim Edwards know Ian Hazel is a talented coach. The only decent coach you need is 52 seats and plenty of TVs. Everybody is now proclaimed as a good or talented coach, yet we produce less talented footballers per thousand of young males than almost any country in Europe. I referee and most young players can run all day and swear using words I have never heard of, yet cannot master the basics of passing so I wonder where all these good coaches are in teaching technique.
Tanners need a good coach as much as Saddam Hussein needs a new tie. What we need is a manger; one who can spot good players and get them to play to their maximum for the team in a defined shape. A lucky manager. DH was a nice guy and signed some players with potential, but asking players to travel 60 miles to play for the Tanners is no good.
I would have preferred some honesty. Tanners prospects and my hopes. A decent FA Cup run a serious shout in the Surrey Senior and League Cup and perhaps a run to the play offs every season with potential for promotion sounds great to me, but Ryman Premier and beyond. That’s cliché entering la la land and is not fooling me or anybody else who knows their football so why do it?
Does our new manager think we are stupid? Does he think that he needs to say such stupid things and that fans will cheer louder if he spouts such garbage. One team wins the league and three get relegated. With our budget it makes sense to cut our cloth accordingly. Since July 2000 the Tanners committee has never sacked a manager, only the commercial manager and it’s the commercial side that needs attention and development. The club is run on volunteer labour and when a new manager feels empowered to talk rubbish my retort is take a reality check."
