Jeez, Bank Holiday Monday fixtures are against Concord - Who saw that coming?

Bath and Weston away are both on Saturdays in October. But I think both fixtures are on FAC dates, so could end up as midweek trips.

They are indeed Second Round Qualifying : Saturday 28 September 2013 - Third Round Qualifying : Saturday 12 October 2013 - Bath away Fourth Round Qualifying : Saturday 26 October 2013 - Weston away First Round Proper : Saturday 9 November 2013 - Borehamwood away Second Round Proper : Saturday 7 December 2013 - Maidenhead home Third Round Proper : Saturday 4 January 2014 - Gosport home In terms of the FA Trophy however, it seems like there is an issue with dates. According to the fixtures, seems like our entry is on 16th Nov (Blank saturday) - but according to the FA, the 3Q of the trophy is on 2nd Nov and the 1st round proper is on 23rd Nov - www.thefa.com/TheFACup/More/~/media/C8143B16848B450C93275B50E9DC9300.ashx - were at home to Eastleigh and Dorchester on those dates. Have the Conference cocked up???

Have the Conference cocked up??? I wouldn't be surprised! Also worth noting that we play three of the five 'new arrivals' in Conference South by the end of August (although Stortford are not strictly 'new').

I've tweeted the Conference on this and their answer was "not a mistake. Been agreed with clubs to do it this way so those having exited the FAT and FAC do not have excuse not to play." - so as it stands we are due to be at home to Eastleigh AND play in the FA Trophy on the same date, with no fixture on 16th Nov.
I'm sorry, but they have cocked up. I would expect them to say something along the lines of "All CS/CN fixtures due to be played on 2nd Nov will now be changed to Sat 16th Nov". Mind you, that may be too straightforward for them

Also, could our last friendly be in doubt?
Dos stated " if we are scheduled to play Farnborough in the league within the first month of the season, then we'll probably call the friendly off.'' - We are at home to them on Sat 14th Sept, less than a month into the new season.

That's still a month after we're due to play them in a PSF. And with Aldershot's future still very much in doubt, I wouldn't think Dos would want to lose another PSF. Will Hayes & Yeading be at their new stand by the festive season? Concord away will be my first game, the joy.......

Concord away will be my first game, the joy....... Think of it this way. Everytime Concord have played in the same league as us, we've won the league

We could hardly have asked for a tougher opening match than away to Eastleigh (where we don't have a great record). Still, I suppose it's a good one to get out of the way early. We're due to play both Eastleigh and Dover twice before December, although we don't meet the other of last season's play-off teams, Chelmsford, until the New Year.
Another fancied side is Ebbsfleet who we're due to play away just before Christmas (so risk of postponement there!) and at home in mid April.

Winners & Losers --- Away mileage on scheduled midweek and Bank Holiday matches Staines, 88 miles over 4 matches Havant, 90 miles over 3 matches Bromley, 94 miles over 3 matches Bishops, 99 miles over 3 matches (they'll be pleased) Chelmsford, 100 miles over 3 matches Concord, 126 miles over 3 matches Borehamwood, 138 miles over 3 matches Sutton, 156 miles over 3 matches Ebbsfleet, 157 miles over 3 matches Basingstoke, 184 miles over 3 matches Whitehawk, 185 miles over 3 matches Tonbridge, 187 miles over 3 matches Hayes, 216 miles over 4 matches (I've assumed that they'll be back in Hayes by Crimbo) Bath, 226 miles over 3 matches (not bad!) Farnborough, 232 miles over 3 matches Gosport, 235 miles over 4 matches Easleigh, 247 miles over 4 matches Eastbourne, 293 miles over 4 matches Dorchester, 299 miles over 3 matches Maidenhead, 314 miles over 4 matches Dover, 316 miles over 4 matches Weston, 390 miles over 4 matches
Whilst I expected Dover & Weston to be at the bottom of this list, why have the league given them 4 away matches on difficult days? So unfair. We come out of it quite well I think, although the weather will soon muck it all up!

Following up from earlier, the Conference have tweeted that the FA have changed the days of the FA Trophy rounds, although they have not produced a new fixture list so they are giving out wrong information. The most current one available is www.thefa.com/TheFACup/More/~/media/C8143B16848B450C93275B50E9DC9300.ashx This level of attention to detail probably explains why Thurrock are waiting so long for an answer....

Gotta wait all season to go to white hawk? Gutted. And the ferry across the solent to gosport on a Tuesday night? Double gutted. Aah well. At least the fixtures being out at last fires up the expectations for the campaign ahead.
