...Full report on the AFC Wimbledon website, it would appear to be a comfortable win. Sutton team not given.

Interesting lack of comment on this afternoon's game! Could it be that many Us fans are as bored as I am at watching games which provide very little information about the way the season will go? I know it seems churlish, because the club has done brilliantly to arrange games against a number of top London clubs (and Wimbledon). No doubt its provided a good boost to club funds and I'm sure the players would rather be having these games than doing doggies in Guildford, and the hot weather has not helped the pace of the games.
But I started to lose the will to live during this afternoon's boreathon and I've still got Chelsea to get through.
The only way this can be retrieved is if we take some of the money and spend it on a PA system that is audible to spectators beyond the main stand. Roll on Cambridge and Aldershot - they might give us a clue as to how the team is shaping up.

These games are just so open with a revolving door on players that its difficult to take anything from performances win, lose or draw. Today we had no Stuart, and no Marv both players who would be in the starting lineup if we were playing for real. We had a decent first 30mins but failed to really trouble a well marshaled AFCW defence. I thought we pulled one back at the end and 4-1 would have been a fairer reflection on the game.

Goal one was a gift. It appeared Tom was either just beaten to the ball off a corner or he dropped it on the lads head.
Goal two was a heck of a strike from distance. No complaints.
Goal three was another gift. 'Keeper did well to come out and claim the ball but it seemed to get away from him and allow a finish into an empty net.
Goal four was on the break and they slotted home after a decent move down the flanks. They'd ballsed one up earlier by smashing wide of a gaping goal.
If you discount the 'gifts' then that's two against decent opposition.
I was delighted that we didn't give up all game and kept plugging away and as has been said it's tough to tell how good we actually are at the moment.
If my goal descriptions are wrong I apologise... I had a temperature of over 101 so may have been seeing things!

I agree that it's difficult to read too much into games like this where we use 10 substitutes. However, there are some slightly concerning shades of the less desirable aspects of last season. Taking 20 passes to reach the opposition penalty area - by which time the opposition has had time to organise their defence - rather than getting the ball back to front more quickly and directly (like we were doing towards the end of last season). Wimbledon gave us a lesson in shooting when they created chances. It's also heart in the mouth time everytime a cross goes into our penalty area.
