Some of you will already have seen this. But as we're due to play a friendly at Farnborough on 10 August, all should be aware that Farnborough FC may have ceased to exist by then. Reading the bitter exchanges on the forum, I'm really not sure whether to laugh or cry. www.notabadname.org.uk/index.php?t=msg&th=2499&start=0&

It's a script so poor even guy Ritchie would run from it. Drunk chairmen allegedly rigging up illegal gas meters? Dodgy property speculators hovering in the wings.? I feel some sympathy for genuine boro fans but this was a slowmo car crash from the off with the league turning a blind eye and leaving it to play out on their watch. It would remain a travesty if boro are allowed to start the season in conf south and has been ever since they rode the points penalty.

I similarly feel sorry for the true supporters of the club.
I wonder how a Thurrock supporter would feel reading all of this.

This is erupting into Dipre-esque proportions of public humiliation now. The only thing that doesn't take them on this level is the fact that they can speak eloquently.
However passionate or informed some of those comments are, there are places for those sorts of conversations, and that forum isn't really it.

Following their antics last season, I had decided that should I visit them again, I would stick to just paying admission and not giving them any extra revenue.
Normally I would have missed my cup of tea at half time but it looks like they wont be able to boil the kettle anyway unless they sort the gasman out.
