Not often I agree with os but I have to We can moan about the ref, we can moan about injuries but although they were factors affecting the game yesterday, it still can't hide the fact that pretty much our first choice defence and keeper let in 3 goals, two of which they seemed to be at fault for. In that respect we seem to be in the same position that we were this time last season. Totally reminds me of Dover at home last season - game we should have won, and were in a winning position, only to gift them goals (And the first and 3rd goals were certainly gifts). Hope Scannell and Folkes are not too bad - hear that Jay has dislocated his shoulder. He certainly looked in a lot of pain when he went off yesterday.

Jay seemed in much better spirits in the bar at 5.45, his shoulder had been popped back in, we've just got to wait to see how much soreness there is now

Some interesting views on today's game here and by both managers. For all that Spencer Day says though, their three goals came from two Sutton errors and a very dodgy free-kick decision that rather made up for the penalty for hands that 'Boro are contesting. Thing is, if you're arms are in an unnatural position when the ball strikes them you tend to be in trouble. And this was the case on this occasion. Our third goal was excellent and should have been that. But giving the ball away where we did to allow them to get a corner to equalise was very disappointing.
Looked a nailed on pen in the last minute but the ref, who we've had for County Cup matches and generally does ok, just totally ignored it. He was very inconsistent and didn't allow for the conditions when handing out a couple of the cards he gave.
As for the swearing, yes I suppose it does sound bad in a small crowd but if the Boro fans are gonna taunt us after they got their third to you really expect everybody to ignore it? Don't get the taunting of oppo fans at non-league football that's for the Prem League surely? And pop of to FFC Mr mmmmm and come back and tell me you didn't hear any bad language. You obviously won't be sitting too near my mate if you didn't.
Back to the game and while we may all be disappointed we didn't win, not sure we can say we deserved to really. Farnboro certainly didn't look the worse for wear after their enforced break as some suggested earlier in the week. I reckon my point was clearly made yesterday afternoon. A good game that had all that nl football has to offer. Some great play, some equally bad play and some quite eccentric refereeing. It's the nature of the beast .
