As Dave F would say... You really do need to chill out Johnnie, surface should help the ball fizz and hopefully lead to a good game.

Very exciting game for all concerned, full of both good and bad. There was very evidently for all to see a large array of Jekyll and Hyde performances from most players on the pitch, leading to a breathless and frustrating encounter.
Starting with the good, at points the forward movement was very, very good, especially in the second half. McDonald and Marvin were both very dangerous and Dundas was doing a decent job of 'being the tank'.
The main negative was the non penalty at the very end. It was a blatant penalty and should have in all honesty being a sending off. At best it was a horrible mistake from both the referee and the linesman, at worst it was extreme negligence. Very, very poor.
The defence from corners and set pieces in general must improve. The non-marking for the third goal was abysmal and embarrassing at this level.
Some good stuff to work on, some bad stuff that must come good.
Concerning the number of injuries mounting up with Scannell looking like he will miss Tuesday with a twisted knee.
Have to start taking a few '3's' at home soon.. Starting to make ourselves at home in mid-table.

I cannot convey in a few short paras the frustration at this result. The first forty minutes were pretty tepid stuff. Rotten borough as expected were physical organised and well up for it and nailed any suggestion that they would be undercooked despite the pisstaking that delayed their start to the season. We created a few half chances from medium range but the teams pretty much cancelled each other out until on forty two minutes a superb through ball carved their defence open and dean Sinclair motored onto the end of it and finished in some style. Scoring on the edge of half time it's essential you hold the lead. We contrived to go in at the break two one down. The equaliser was a mega cock up. Rentsy ended up the wrong side of his man but a pretty innocuous cross was fumbled by Tom, poked away straight to their player who hammered it home. Worse came immediately. A soft decision was given against skip on the edge of the box and we has handed a yellow in what should have been a warning of what was to come from this clown of a ref. a decent strike from the free kick took it in off the post and that was that. I assume arses were kicked at half time as generally our level of performance wasn't good enough. We came out with more purpose but despite some better passing and movement the fraudsters had the measure of us. A tactical change on around the hour saw dundo drop back into midfield and we went with marv and mac zipping around up front, a move that made sense if we kept the ball on the dec instead of lumping it onto the heads of their giant back pair. We were soon rewarded. A ball into the box was clearly pushed away by a hand and dundo buried the pen. Our best part if the game followed and if we hadn't been a bit shot shy we may have taken the lead earlier. Binnsy was making great progress down the left whenever the ball was played low in behind their defence and in one blinding move he ran through onto a well paced pass, carried it on angled in a cross and jay arriving at pace from the right smashed it home. Now we needed to hold tight and do the basics right. Or so we hoped. Our ability to put ourselves under needless pressure was back with a vengeance. I lost count of the number of times we gave the ball away softly but now we did it bang in the middle of the park and opened up a chance for them that Tom had to save well at the price of a corner. Should never have happened and from the corner they scored from what looked like a free header to me. At least we regrouped and had a final charge and jay skipped through on a another low through ball and was so clearly pulled back when through on goal in the box that we just waited for the ref to point at the spot. Except he didn't He bottled it in what was either an act of cowardice or something more rotten. You suspect the worse when the fraudsters and gas meter thieves are in town. And that was that. Sheer frustration and if you are going to get mugged off by anyone you wouldn't want it to be these cowsons. The injury list isn't helping but I hope we can motor on Tuesday night against Dover which also happens to be my birthday.

Firstly, why did we kick off at 3.05? The game these days is long enough. We don't need to kick off late.
A poor first half but much improved in the 2nd when Dundo played in midfield. Big mistake from Tom, but that happens on damp services. Looked a soft decision to me to re the free kick for the goal but the yellow card was correct. It was for skips reaction and was a yellow all day long so you can't have a go at the ref for that.
I've only been able to get to 2 games but what I've seen of MacDonald I think he looks a brilliant player. He creates so many openings and I was surprised when he got taken off against Stortford. I know he was at fault for giving away the ball that led to the corner where they equalised for their 3rd goal but imho he was our best player.
I didn't realise Binns was playing in the first half but boy did he show what he can do in the second half.
We looked so much more dangerous going forward, now we just need to be consistent for 2 halves.
Defo pen at the end, no idea why it wasn't given. Had the lino been on that side surely it would have been given.
I know people were complaining about the ref especially when their 5 booted the ball away but in my opinion he did it just after the whistle was blown plus 2 players (1 from each side) were down injured so no free kick could have been taken quickly anyway.
Anyway plenty of promise in that 2nd half so roll on Tuesday and 3 points

The start was delayed because the refs assistant found a problem with the net in the goal at the Collinwood Road end that took several minutes to repair.

I thought we were dreadful. 1st half was inexcusable, one of the worst in my memory. Deservedly down at half time. Inept long balls to their units and not even competing for the scraps as we did so. Even so it took a mistake from Tom (who more than made up for it) and a bad linesman non decision IMO (maybe he will be proved right but he wasn't good all day) to be down at ht. But they had a couple of other very good chances. Good freekick from them. 2nd all over the park again, like Stortford. 2nd half improved and Dundas and Rivs were infinitely better in the middle of the park. Dundo gave us a bit of presence in there. McDonald does some good stuff, including quality contribution for our first, but a lazy pathetic pass in our own half cost us the lead we had grabbed back, along with terrible competing for resulting corner (think the ball got low enough to volley in!). McDonald adds something in the final 1/3 but that was not the only time he gave it away in poor areas. If that continues he'll prob find himself continuing to be a sub to introduce when we need a spark. Frustrated because this is essentially the side that ended the season so well and we're just nowhere near that level at the moment. There has been talk of injuries and of course it isn't great that our 2 guys brought in to bang in the goals aren't playing but that side is more than capable of better than that. Crowds also continue to be very poor. Tuesday is an important game.

A disappointing result and performance in general, we should really be beating Farnborough. The first half was shocking, we never really looked like scoring and deserved to be behind at the break, even if the free-kick decision for their second goal was debatable. The second half was much better and we deservedly turned it around to go 3-2 up. Their 3rd goal was absolutely dreadful from our perspective, couldn't have been sloppier. We wouldn't have to look back at the late decision not to give a penalty if we didn't give the ball away concede sloppily from a corner. On a positive note, I brought a mate along to the game today after he enjoyed the Chelsea game. I reckon he's now completely hooked and even bought a scarf at the end. Another fan gained even if the attendance was disappointing in the end

I don't know why I go - what am I expecting? Do I forget this is right down in tier 6 of the football pyramid? The players were obviously trying their best (the game was pretty frenetic), so it's hard to criticise, but maybe the general standard just isn't as high as I imagine it should be. The same for the refereeing - he wouldn't be at this level if he was any good. Roll that in with the miserable weather, the atrocious language (from the players and fans), the blatant cheating and timewasting, and the low attendance, and there's not much reason to go back tbh. I could have gone to see Fulham with my mate for £20.

Certainly an eventful match, but this was an error-strewn performance from Sutton with players struggling to keep upright on a slippery surface. We played well in spells, but it was disappointing to surrender the lead twice at home, and we didn't really want to be relying on an inconsistent referee to give us a second penalty in the dying minutes. It gives me no pleasure to say so, but I thought Farnborough were the more composed team over the 90 minutes and a point was the least they deserved. To add to our frustrations, Scannell and Folkes both went off injured. At least new boy Clough was watching and will be available for Dover on Tuesday.

To be fair mmm I have been watching Sutton now for 5 or 6 games only, and would say I am now hooked, but the language and abuse of match officials at Sutton is very, very poor at best..
Now don't get me wrong, I've met some great people at Sutton and the club officials I've met as well are very hardworking and well mannered to a 'newbie' like me, but the CONSTANT abuse to the officials from certain sections of the stand MUST stop as it is an embarrassment to Sutton United Football Club. I heard a certain ginger gentleman today shout 'you are a f###ing c##t ref, do you not get sick of being such a pathetic w###er you t##t?'
Now. I understand it was incredibly annoying and wrong that a penalty was not awarded and that is beyond dispute, I also agree and accept there will be swearing and choice language at football matches, but when it is as abusive and disgusting as that, words must be had.
Put it this way, if I was stood with my Son in the stand, and subjected to that total lack of respect.. right next to that tirade of abuse like a patient gentleman was today I would have lost my rag completely and 'had a word'.
The worst thing about it all is that once one goes off 3 or 4 others join in. Come on people, does Sutton need to get an anger management class for supporters or are these actions going to continue to alienate potential new fans?
I bought a £38 replica shirt today (the white one, I love it!!) I would very much like to wear it with pride rather than feeling ashamed like I did at full time today. Thank goodness for those fans who were trying to drown out the abuse by supporting the team!! Thankfully these guys (and girls!) were the majority and not the minority!!

I have had the benefit of seeing the video tonight so I am not going to make comment on the incidents but they were covered from both sides of the pitch. I thought going forward you can't argue we scored 3 and really should have won the game, but at the back we just were not good enough giving away 2 goals out of the 3. I can understand the frustration with the ref but I think a lot of that was sheer frustration at our desperate attempts to throw the match away. The new defender cannot come quick enough for me, and hopefully that will add a bit of calmness back there. We are doing some really good stuff going forward but at the back we are struggling with the basics and at any level that will cost points and prevent you from challenging for titles and playoffs.
