Now we're at GCSEs at school expect some podcasts to either be up very late or occasionally not at all
Hopefully we can take another 3 points. We can't be much worse than the game at Havant last season!

Half -time Havant 0 Sutton 2
Haysworth and Riviere.
Sounds like we've hit Havant twice on the counter - but had to soak up a lot of pressure.

This was a performance that oozed sheer class. Helped by what must be the finest playing surface in the league.
The first half hour was dominated by some dire refereeing. Binns denied a nailed on pen, Charlie on the receiving end of unpunished elbows that could easily have bust his hooter and the boot left in on tom at least once. Again unpunished.
The ref actually looked like he had blown for a hawks goal when tom struggled to collect a speculative cross come shot but I think the Lino ruled it hadn't crossed the line. I couldn't see from the other end.
Anyway. On just after the half hour a moment of pure class. The ball dropped to Kane on the edge of the box and showing perfect technique he volleyed it straight into the top corner. Shame the gills won't let him play in the fa cup but you can't blame them.
There was no easing off the pace from the u's and in injury time at the end of the first half in a goal mouth scramble Rivs swiveled, put his boot through the ball and we went in two up.
Second half I expected more from hawks but it didn't happen. We kept pressing with Mac and binns getting in behind the defence and slabs leading the line as you would expect.
Third goal dundo. Rising imperiously at the far post to nod home from a cross from the left. That cancelled out last years shocker at Havant but we weren't done yet.
Slabs must have been as surprised as anyone to find the ball breaking to him a few yards out with no one anywhere near him and he rammed it past the keeper.
A few minutes later he done even better. Collecting the ball out left just inside the box. Carrying it past the defender and finishing superbly with the shot tucked just inside the post.
Jamie t came on which was great and as the Havant fans drained away quicker than lager turns to piss we were knocking it around and basically rubbed there noses in it and there' would have been no surprise if we had got another.
Jamie Stuart was absolutely immense today but the whole team were excellent. We've got some momentum and confidence going now and hopefully we can keep that going in the cup next week. Good quality half time slipper as well and havant really are a well organised set up. We simply outclassed them today.

U's first 5-0 win in the CS since Dorchester late August 2005 (Jamie Mackie scored in that) against a Havant side who played the long ball game to far less effect than Dover had last Tuesday.
Mr Trotter has written an excellent summary of the match above. We really turned on the style after Dundo's third and Slabs goals were set up by some excellent play but boy did he finish them well. That was class. In fact all five goals came from good play or fine finishes or both. Young Haysland will be well pleased with his effort. Excellent technique.
Unfortunately a 5-0 win should need no mention of a refereeing performance but such was his bizarre contribution to the game, it needs it. Firstly, their no 10 should have had if not two, definitely one yellow within the first ten mins so one has to feel for Cloughy as he picked up a late yellow after being the victim of an assault that left him with a bloody nose and a very late tackle. Binnsy was brought down in the box before Havant thought they had scored (will look forward to the highlights package for that).
Back to the U's. Rivs was outstanding in the middle today, and skip continued his fine start to the season with a commanding performance alongside the aforementioned Clough (a pairing that has yet to concede in two matches). Bimnsy and Macca were full of energy, movement and invention. Put in a word too for Mitchell Nelson who seems to have steadied his ship and was arguably our best performer in the first half.
But the sight of seeing Slabs finish like he did and Jamie T coming off the bench really was the icing on today's five-tier cake.
Well done to all, fantastic result. Up to 4th too. And I think still more to come from this squad.

What a difference 6 months makes! Havant decided to copy our performance from last season (just below average first half, shocking second half) and we punished them. I thought for the first 20mins they have the lion's share of possession. They looked well drilled, but they didn't know how to get past Tom, who I thought had a cracking game.
To be honest, once we got past 30 mins, we were better than them all over the park - esp in midfield, with a MoM display from Rivs. Although the Staines game was more like us beating a poor side, today felt like we made an ok side look really poor - Jamie S's 2 goals showed why we got him, Dundo's header knocked the stuffing out of them, our defence was tight as anything with both skip and Cloughie putting in a great shift, and that man Binns again showing why most right backs in the league fear him.
If i'm right our first away league win since we beat Maidstone in our Ryman winning season.
I don't think Havant are a poor side, but they lost shape and discipline quite early on. Remember this is a side who did what we failed to do (Beat Farnborough at home and come back from Eastleigh with a point).
We're now unbeaten since 24 August. A quality win from a quality side.
