.....was it a goal?. unless there was an earlier infringment, it looked over the line.

Still have no idea why the ref did not award Havant a goal. No infringement, clearly over the line. Like the Dover sending off, bloody awful decision. No doubt we'll be on the wrong end of a few ourselves this season. In fact, we have already.

Totally odd decision. Clearly a goal by any measurement and I expect, and rightly so, that Havant fans would be very aggrieved by that. Fortunately it would have had no effect on the result - there's no way Havant would have won yesterday even if it was given.

Some H&W fans reckon that affected their performance, but I agree we would still have won easily with that second-half performance. Even so I really feel for Havant - that was simply not fair. And even if they did take a slump after that happened (putting them at an obvious psychological disadvantage) they arguably ought to have bounced back after half-time.

It's easy to say that of course. Like when we let the 2nd goal in against Wrexham or when Leroy missed the penalty against Notts County. Certainly the former we still wouldn't have won against and the latter we could have given a run for their money. But before (and after) that "goal" on Saturday, they really didn't test Tom at all, and looked like they were lacking any sort of ideas up front (and of course our defence were doing a sterling job).

The old cliche is that these things even themselves out eventually.. We can point to the Binns penalty shout and dipping back a few months the shocker that ruled out a perfectly good winning goal at Dover that robbed us of a crucial two points. Now that was a potentially season altering decision.
Although the game may have been a bit tighter at the weekend if the goal was given I still think we would have stepped up and just had too much in the tank for them.
Still, if we had been on the receiving end of a decision like that in full view we would no doubt have combusted so the hawks lot have some sympathy from me and that's a rare commodity from these quarters these days. Jeez, I would love to hear some sort of explanation from the ref and the lino as to exactly what sort of altered mind state they were inhabiting on saturday afternoon.

I agree that the decision was outrageous and it could have had a bit of impact on the game.
I think though that what may have affected their second half even more was conceding a second goal bang on half time. If we had gone in one up, they may have come out stronger second half.
2-0 down at half time with no time to put it right before the half time whistle made their job a lot tougher and once we got going second half it looked like they knew they had no answer to our style of play.
All in all, a great afternoon's entertainment.

I don't think you can ever say we would have won anyway, the game plan would probably have changed and we would have seen a entirely different match.
On the face of it I hazard a guess that the goal was disallowed due to the no10 kicking at the ball when it was in Tommo hands. I am not saying that is wrong or right just that I think that is why it was ruled out?

Tom carried into the net before their guy got anywhere near it. Terrible refereeing and the linesman was poor too.
