Manager sacked. Unless Dipre invests again, which seems unlikely, they are staring down the barrel. Watching from afar he seemed to have worked miracles last season and was keeping them competitive this season working with little budget wise. Can see them ending up knocking about in the county leagues in the not too distant future.

It seems Ian Hazel has been given the job Wonder if its just on a caretaker basis like before. As Sutton supporters know well, his record managing clubs is very poor, and certainly in my mind was the manager who got us relegated. He's a good coach and has previously gone on record saying he's not a manager, plus he turned down the bobbins job before. Mind you, I really can't see anyone of any merit wanting to work in those conditions. Dipre's latest tweet (about 3pm today) was "There's no justice or fairness in Football." - what a nice man he is!

There's no justice or fairness in football because people like Dipre are involved with it.

Hazel has been appointed 'long-term' according to the bobbins website, with Paul Harford as his assistant.

Least with Harford he has a chance. Until Dipre undoes his work every week

Love to see how Paul H gets on with Dipre. Great guy PH but no shrinking violet.
A tad harsh on Haze Andy, Ernie Howe had a fair amount of time but other than - if memory serves - bringing Dundo in, he was bloody awful and wasted christ knows how much on Stefan Ball and spent most of the time criticising the players rather than encouraging them. May have done well at Basingstoke but in my opinion, he was the worst manager we've ever had, bar none.

In his one full season in charge Hazel took us to a 14th-placed finish in Conference South, one place higher than JR had managed two seasons earlier. It was the following season that it all went pear-shaped, but at least IH had the decency to resign in early October giving his successor 70% of the season to turn things round. Only he didn't!
I think Hazel's problem is that he's not much of a motivator. I can't help thinking that if he and Harford swapped jobs at Colston Ave they might be a more effective combination.

Don't get me wrong Frakey I agree - you did forget the sacking of Lewis Gonsalves at half time at Hampton to add to that list! He certainly was the worst manager we ever had, but a good manager would have had a hard time motivating players after the start to that season we had!
If there were only two managers in the world we could have, being Hazel and Howe, Mr Hazel would win hands down!
