That was a night bus I believe, the N213 Not when Chalmers was a kid! The N213 route only ran for a couple of years I think, and it was withdrawn in 2009. I think it only started in 2007. It was probably replaced by the 151 or it was decided the 151 was such a similar route that there was no point running the 213

I clicked on the link the other day and thought I read it was a Sunday only bus service for a few years in late 80/esrly90's going to west Croydon

The 213 still runs a 24-hour route as far as I know, but the N213 - the Sutton-Croydon part - was scrapped so it dropped the N prefix (as it was the same as the day route). Most of the Wallington/Sutton portion of the 151 route doesn't run parallel to any other route. Chalmers is right, the 213A and 213B routes were Sunday only I've now revealed my other identity as a bus geek...

Even geekier, the 213 ran one journey a day down Sutton Common Road for Glenthorne School. This was replaced after a few years by the 613

Was that the one where someone moaned that it was so much better in those days because there was "hardly any traffic" in the picture? That made me laugh so much, because the High Street is now almost completely pedestrianised. It's a fantastic group Billy, do join if you haven't already

Looking at that photo reminds me of Sutton HS back then. You can just make out Liptons on the right next to HMV and I think opposite was Safeways. Early 70's I'd say.

Yup, as fluffy put up there, 1972. You should read the comments mate Anyway Mr F, you should post a few more comments to the Old Sutton group - think your contributions will be really welcome
