God knows who wrote the NLP report but was he at the same game? Even the Bromley fans conceded that U's were the better side but that really does not come across too well. He gave Goldberg 8 out of 10 (what did he do to deserve that?) and reckoned Slabs finished was "scuffed". Does he come from Bromley?
Goldberg thought they deserved a point but to do that you need to be more ambitious in a match and they lacked that. They are a well drilled outfit though and will be there or thereabouts at the end of the next season I should think.

Superb sequence in Paul's Flickr images showing Slabb's finish a la Danny Welbeck, brilliant improvisation.

Scuffed ? Jeez, even the bromley bugle wouldn't try that on. Not convinced they will last the pace though mark unless mg works some magic in the loan market. Looks like they spent big early and are now hacking back just two months in. Their lot , the ones who had come for the football, were saying their trimmed down squad was well stretched yesterday and with the real business end some months ahead depth is going to become more and more of an issue for all of us. Mind you this league does look wide open and ripe for a few shocks and maybe bromley will have a say in the final shakedown. What a massive week or so ahead for us. Hemel in in the cup, the delayed trip to gozzy (replay allowing) and then the really big league test against Eastleigh at home. No wonder the crowds are coming back to GGL.

Deserved a draw my ass. Ok so the result could have been very different if they had scored during their only two minute spell of dominance but that was it. First half they had nothing going forward, second half we could have blown them away during that spell after the goal. Yes their defence is excellent (mainly their skipper no 5) and they have some lively attackers but I think it'll be us Eastliegh and Ebbsfleet in the shakedown with Bish looking like the dark horses. I would expect Bromley to be good enough for the play offs but no more than that.

They were missing a number of players yesterday not including those released. A good defence, as we know ourselves, is the basis of a good side. Of who we've played so far they, Eastleigh and Stortford have impressed. Farnboro we shall wait and see.

Report from the Bromley forum gives an accurate account.
Sutton United 1 Bromley 0 – Skrill South – 19/10/2013 On paper this was a game between the second and third placed sides, but the gulf in resources and the gap in class was massive, inevitably in the end the more affluent hosts were well worth the three points. Having been forced to cut the budget following the early FA Cup exit Bromley had let four players go during the week and then lost another four for varying reasons in the build up to the game, which left them very light for such a big game. Lining up 3-5-2 The Ravens matched Sutton early on Mitchell Nelson went close for the hosts while Jay May headed over for Bromley. As the half went on though Sutton spent far more time on the attack with Mark Goldberg’s men unable to find any final ball when they did have possession. Late on Anthony Riviere, Craig Dundass and Jamie Stuart all went close, but the sides went in level at the break. Bromley started the second half in positive style, Jay May missed a great opportunity to break the deadlock, but shot straight at Tom Lovelock when one on one. Soon after Brendan Kiernan also spurned a great chance and The Ravens were maid to pay for their lack of killer touch when on 50minutes Jamie Slabber flicked in a low cross from the right after some poor defending to make it 1-0 to Sutton. The home team then dominated for long spells with Nelson forcing a good save from Joe Welch, Slabber heading over and Riviere going close. Bromley switched to 4-4-2 for the final 30minutes, but their inability to keep hold of the ball constantly frustrated any attempts to mount a response. Former Bromley captain Ali Fuseini went close before The Ravens had one final great chance to equalise after good work down the left, but Bradley Goldberg took a touch when four yards from goal and could only scuff his shot into Lovelock’s arms. The home side came close to adding a second in injury time, but Taylor Parmenter’s brave block foiled Sam Rents’ powerful effort. In the end one goal was enough for Sutton who looked a quality side, while Bromley who did have chances to grab a point look destined to struggle as they face up to the financial reality of the early FA Cup exit.
Quote for the game, 'I want to stay at home and eat sausages.' - Topper
Bromley: Welch, Parmenter, Swaine, Holland, Kiernan (Griffiths 80), Dubois, Buchanan, Smith, Swallow (Poolley 58), May (O’Connor 75), Goldberg. Subs: McDonnell, Kanu.

I'm glad it wasn't just me who thought the report was written by a Bromley supporter.

It was written by a Bromley supporter wasn't it?
I wonder if the NLP knows or cares that the reports are frequently misleading. There were a number of points in the Lewes report I would take issue with, if I hadn't decided some years ago that their reports were mostly crap. Pride of place must surely go to the plonker who used to do the reports for Hornchurch, which frequently beggared belief!
