If anyone, like me, thinks the corner cam casts a suspicion of offside for the Eastleigh goal, I'm certain that this season's directive makes any conjecture irrelevant in that once the 'keeper makes the save, his touch effectively plays everybody on-side again.
Clear as mud!

Are you saying that a forward can be waiting on the penalty spot whilst the defence is on the edge of the box, a long range effort comes in and is saved, the forward has a tap in with no offside? Bizarre.

Great interview with Dos. Understandably pleased with the side. Should be a good occasion for us on Saturday. We are a good side and we can give them a game.

Looking at the corner flag replay, McCallister does appear offside when the shot came in and if so, their goal should have been ruled out. Makes me even more bloody happy about the pen.
Also the challenge on Dundo in the second half looked a pen too. Their fella clipped Dundo and it was more inside the box than the one we got.
No arguments about Mitch's red but their 6 was bloody lucky cos that was not a good challenge either.
Bit concerned about the surface. I think the downpour 50 mins before k.o. didn't help but it doesn't look as good as it has.
Top i/v with Dos too.

Actually, I've got that wrong, it seems as though he isn't played on side by a 'deliberate save' so the question goes back out there!
"• gaining an advantage by being in that position" means playing a ball
(I) that rebounds or is deflected to him off the goal post, crossbar or an opponent having been in an offside position (II) that rebounds, is deflected or is played to him from a deliberate save by an opponent having been in an offside position
A player in an offside position receiving the ball from an opponent, who deliberately plays the ball (except from a deliberate save), is not considered to have gained an advantage."

As far as I am concerned the ball has rebounded and the goal should have been ruled out if McAllister was offside when the ball was played? Eastleigh's highlights should answer that definitively as they were recorded from the stand side. Can't really argue about Mitch's red card but after applying the letter of the law the ref did not follow that with consistent decisions. No booking for the penalty, I think their No6 and No12 should have both walked if the same values were applied to them as Mitch. We all agree now the penalty incident was outside the box but then that should serve as a warning to defenders who think they are being clever by committing fouls on the edge of the box, its a risky business. Some of the other suggestions from the Eastleigh forum are quite bizarre, I particularly like the Dos commentating one Every time the ball went into our box (about 3 times) they were claiming for a penalty!

If ever there was team that reflected their manager's personality . . .
TBH still think Eastleigh are my favourites for the title but think they will need to invest again.

I am sure MarkF will say I told you so but the value bet has to be 12/1 Stortford with Bet365 especially with a heap of TV money to come in.

He's hardly Mr Charisma, but if I was watching that interview as an Eastleigh fan, I'd be really worried. I can't put my finger on it, but I don't think he's going to be Eastleigh manager by the end of the season!
