A nice ground, friendly stewards and a pretty good team, I honestly hope they do well in the league and get a good tie in the next round.

Trust me, the scoreline flattered them, we matched them in all areas except on taking chances. It didnt and to suggest anything else is plainly nonsense. Lovelock made several good saves as well as the 4 they scored. We had a couple of opportunities but were way short of matching them in any area except between the sticks. Not to say we didn't give it a go and can be proud of the efforts.

Have to say I enjoyed the day out. Their ground is obviously league standard and everything was well organised. Cheese and Onion pie was top notch.
I thought the players did themselves proud although at times were a bit naive defensively. They never stopped working and had a couple of good chances towards the end. I thought Slabber did OK today and held the ball up reasonably well although I'm generally not a big fan of his.
At the end of the day it was a step up in class and they were the better team. Gives them an idea of where the team need to be to compete in the league above.

Well, a good day out and an entertaining cup tie. Kidderminster were better than us in just about every department though. Stronger, faster and quicker of thought. I thought that their shape was excellent and we never really looked like threatening. Without doubt our keeper kept us in it 1st half. Half time arrived and somehow it was still only 2-1. I hoped that Dos might be able to come up with some piece of tactical genius, such as not leaving our full backs hopelessly exposed, but the simple truth is that they were just better than us which meant we were constantly stretched. I don't think the team should be downhearted though. We tried to play a bit of football, never resorted to hoofing it and just got turned over by a very good team. Good luck to them. An excellent turn out from Sutton. Not sure what happened to the supporters coach though it seemed to turn up at about two minutes to three. Did we hire Hemel Hempstead's coach driver?

I think we needed a bit of luck today against classy opponents but it never happened. I know one bloke who had cloughy at forty to one to score first so he was reasonably chuffed. Our defence had a pretty torrid time down the flanks and there was some clinical finishing from kh although has been said tom pulled off some great saves. At three one we had a blinding chance when folkes pulled the ball back right across the goal line and it only needed a touch and it was a shame the big fella couldn't get on the end of it. You have to take those chances in a game like this. Three two might have made it interesting but soon after they broke as we pushed on and that killed it. This was an example of where we need to be competing if the ambition of this season comes to fruition I was on the coach, believe me in the end it was a bloody miracle we made kick off. Someone was determined to stop us getting a nice pint or two in. Run back was fine along the prescribed route.

I think the headline for today from Sutton is "harsh scoreline, but fair result" - Kiddy showed why they are doing so well in the Conf prem and were a class above Sutton. We tried our best and can say that we certainly had a couple of chances, esp in the 2nd half to get a goal or two back, but credit to Dos and the team, we went up there to get a result and play, rather than park the bus in the vain hope of a replay. Goals 3 and 4 for Kiddy both on the break from where we were pushing everything up front for an equaliser.
MoM for me was Tom. Odd to say your keeper when you lose 4-1 but to be honest, with all of those 4 goals he didn't have much of a chance. It's fair to say as well that skip obviously wasn't fit and without Jamie Taylor who would have taken a few chances better than we did, we didn't have too much of a chance. But yet another 1st round visit in the FA cup, and nothing to be ashamed about. Kiddy beat us in every department today, but we certainly didn't make it as easy as the scoreline suggested.
As for the club and the ground. Today was a perfect reason why I'd like to see us promoted if we get to go to set ups like theirs. Lovely ground, great facilities, superb food, welcoming to visiting supporters and the home support were loud and supported their club, rather than other idiot teams who decide that supporting their team means slagging other teams off. I remember Kiddy supporters from the 80s were always one of the more decent bunches and that remains true. I wish them success and hope they become a league club. They're certainly set up to be one.
Well done to the Sutton side for giving it a go - time to dust ourselves down and return to the league. Results didn't go our way today. Eastleigh, as usual, fluked a win with a 90th min goal, whilst Hayes and Basingstoke go above us by beating Whitehawk and Maidenhead respectively. Our opponents on Tuesday, Bath, cantered to an easy victory against bottom side Dorchester. This means we're in 6th spot.

Enjoyed my first U's game of the season despite the scoreline. Well played KH who were an extremely efficient unit. Their defensive line was not only well organised but also played very smart and were able to snuff out any opportunities that we tried to create coming forward. Meantime they broke quickly from deep and always appeared to have a man over at the right time. Not sure if we had "a bad day at the office" or whether we were not used to this level of opposition as we seemed to cede possession very easily all afternoon and we barely had a goal attempt on target all game after the goal. Possibly it may have had something to do with the latitude as this must have been the furthest north Sutton have played in the FA Cup for about 20 years!
At least no one could accuse the support of not doing their bit. Good effort everyone. A nice stadium, an enjoyable pint in town before hand, good food in the ground and the drive home was less than an hour and a half....

No disgrace, but we were beaten by a better side. They started slowly and we took advantage with the game's first corner then first goal. But they equalised from their first threatening move when we failed to clear the danger. We had plenty of pressure after that but Harriers had a fluency in attack that we rarely matched.
As with last season's Trophy tie v Wrexham, the match showed us the standards at the upper end of the Conference Premier.

I suppose the omens were not great as it started pissing down about 5 mins into my walk to the ground. So I went back for the car and then got held up at a width gap in GGL because some tosser in a white van decided to pull up and park just yards from said gap causing minor mayhem and then further issues with another idiot driver the other side of the Gander lights.
Then came the now infamous coach journey. Quite what the driver was on, thinking that the best way to Kiddy was to use the M4 and then M5 I don't know. Fortunately we turned off just before Bath and had a sight seeing tour of The Cotswolds before joining the M5 at Gloucester arriving at Aggborough 8 mins before k.o. My first sup coach journey to a match in years and after that experience probably my last.
I thought we were quite comfortable in the early stages but Cloughy's great header to put us in front woke Harriers up and they equalised quickly and took the lead 5 mins later. Tom made two fine saves to prevent further goals before ht, although Slabs had one opportunity to equalise but struck his shot into the side netting.
I thought we were v good for the first part of the second half but gave the ball away for their third goal, although it was a fine run and finish from Lolley. We had two opportunities to get a second, Dundo squeezing an effort the wrong side of the post and Scanners forcing a fine save from the 'keeper.
Their fourth, again on the break, was a tad harsh but was of little consequence as the match was already won.
U's stuck to their philosophy throughout with passing and moving but we were playing the team second in The Conference Prem, away from home and they were generally quicker, stronger and a greater threat in the last third.
I think the lads can be proud of how they approached the game and we did give them some anxious moments but Kiddy proved to great an obstacle and deserved their win.
One note on the ref. Thought he did ok but the only caution administered for a foul was to Ali when it wasn't even a foul and I'm not quite sure what their no 4 will have to do to get a yellow for the rest of the season as he got away with more than persistent infringement today.
Still, minor issues and at least we came home on the M40, knocking a whole hour off the time it took to get there.
Back down the M4 to Bath on Tuesday and no, not by bloody coach.

Beaten by the better team today but proud of the boys for putting in a great shift and shading possession is no mean feat. I get the bit I will get told off for out of the way first, their 4th looks offside to me Having said that no arguments at all about the result though. Tom and Charlie were outstanding and how we can keep him out of the team now is something for Dos to ponder? KH were just that bit better at the back and in front of goal and it made all the difference. We played our stuff didn't park the bus which might have been the way that many other managers would have dealt with today. We needed the likes of JT today and Marv fit, and JS must still be feeling the effects of the assault on him during the Hemel match to maybe provide a few more problems for the home side. But I still think we are not far off conference quality and by the end of the season we will be even closer. Surprised they gave Fowler their MOTM as surely that had to go to Callum Gittings? From today's and previous results in the FA Cup it appears that the Conference north is a little stronger then the south?

Firstly on the infamous coach, apologies for it getting there almost on kick off. When booking a coach, the one thing you expect is a driver with a bit of geographical nous or a working sat nav! Still we got there (just). When the driver originally said 3.30 for arrival time I feared the worst and tried to hide under the seat.
The result may have been different if the one proven forward we have at conf prem level (Jamie Taylor) was fit but no doubt KH fans will be able to mention a player on their side who was missing as they had numbers 22 and 30 playing etc (I still haven't got used to squad numbers).
We started lively enough and it was a shame we couldn't hold our lead for a bit longer. After they equalised, it soon became apparent that their was only likely to be one winner. Attacked at pace, fairly solid at the back and a taste of what's to come if we go up.
Still, we played all game and never just defended (or parked the poxy bus as we all must say now). Top effort from all the lads and god bless Tom for some superb saves which helped make the scoreline more respectable.
Back to the coach though! If we do go up, there are some nightmare trips oop north that we will need to make and with the price of diesel, coach journeys might be more affordable. Just need to get a more knowledgable driver I guess!!

One of their regular posters saying that was possibly their best performance of the season and saying we would hold our own in their league. I thinks that's some important perspective and although it's always easier to be generous when you've just recorded a handsome win it is a real pleasure to come across oppo fans with a bit of class compared to some of the garbage we've heard lately. Our real competitors at the moment are the likes of Eastleigh and Bromley and we know how we measure against them so our confidence should remain right up there. With the games coming thick and fast into the new year we are going to need to squeeze every ounce out of this small squad of players that's for certain.

From the pictures on the ITV highlights, the main thing for me is not the difference between the squads (they were at home and clearly have an excellent squad for Conf Prem level), it was the difference between the grounds. I know that they achieve a higher average gate than ourselves, but in my time watching Sutton the gate has differed wildly from 450 to 1000+, surely it's time to do the ground up for a push into the Conf Prem?
