Hi all,
To those of you who travelled on the supporters coach on Saturday, I would just like to apologise for the rather haphazard nature of the journey to Kidderminster and all the rushing in order to make kick off.
From our point of view as the supporters club, we booked the coach and allowed 4 hours 15 minutes to do a trip which was expected to take 3 hours. The coach left dead on time and we should have been Ok.
Regarding Mitcham Belle, they were good enough to put a coach on stand by for us while we examined how much interest in running a coach there was and once confirmed, they provided a clean and comfortable coach which was there as arranged at 10.00am on Saturday morning. They have always been very good with the supporters club when we have considered coach travel and we place no blame them as a company.
They have been informed of the actions of the coach driver and his insistence on taking the wrong route despite being told by myself and others that the M40 would have been the preferred way of getting there. Mitcham Belle have apologised for this poor service and for the actions of their driver. They will be speaking to him this week to find out why he took the route he did and they have noted our comments regarding the performance of the driver.
By hook or by crook we just about made it which whilst not good enough, it ended up better than it was looking when the driver announced that his ETA was 3.20!!
It was entirely down to the driver that the journey to the game was not as pleasant as we would have hoped and we thank you all for your patience on the journey. I think we all proved our point by insisting on the M40 to get home but this should not have been necessary.
For any future coach travel, we will ensure that we get a driver who listens to us and understands the importance of football supporters getting to the game before kick off.
Sorry again if the journey spoilt your day a little.
Cheers,
