So no Taylor (out on loan to Eastbourne), no McDonald or Folkes (released).
That leaves us with a current squad of 14 fit players. I really hope no one gets injured or sent off!

Or Wayne! Another good decision on Folkes. He was much better than I initially thought he was but still lacks something. The article does say Dos is hoping to have another player on board for the weekend. Though it was just a possiblity. Hopefully we have a couple of ressies who can fill the bench up.

We're promised one or two additions to the squad. Maybe a new signing will make his debut for Sutton this afternoon.

Couldn't get away in time, not going to make the game today.
Good luck Sutton!

Really important win today. Started sharp and had a couple of great chances early on. Slabs broke the deadlock when the ball broke nicely for him just inside the box and he dinked it sweetly over the keeper. The equaliser came from what looked like a failure to shut them down quickly enough. Lead was restored when slabs placed a lovely header perfectly over the keeper and he could have had the first half hat trick his performance deserved when he crashed another header off the bar. They equalised again just before ht with a well taken goal by our old friend paquette Second half we started sharp again and after some good creative work dundo swept the ball in and restored the lead. Looked like slabs had got this third and put the match out of site but was flagged offside. Some nervy stuff for us at the other end and some dire reffing but we held on and put an unsettling week behind us. Slabs motm. He was excellent today. Won loads in the air and took two superbly finished goals. On to the other end of the thameslink Monday and another important game for us. Back up to fourth and well and truly back in contention.

A win at last and against a hard working Maidenhead team, who were not afraid to leave the foot there to halt progress if necessary and were allowed to get away with it far too often.
We had two good chances before we scored, with Binnsy looking lively and to hot to handle for the visiting right back. Slabs finish for the first was excellent, they scored a good equaliser before Slabs headed home from another cross having already headed against the bar.
Back came Maidenhead with a fine finish by Pacquette, although it is questionable that he should have been on the pitch by then, clattering Tom Lovelock unnecessarily and catching Skip with a stray arm, neither of which bothered the inept referee enough to issue any type of card.
Second half another great move down the left saw Slabs lay off find Dundo who swept home. Maidenhead continued to work hard without really threatening and U's were often thwarted progress by a foul that the ref was happy to give but not stop. He did caution Pacquette for his second go at Tom and for a foul on Binnsy. Meanwhile we picked up two yellows for technical offences.
U's saw at the match with few scares, Slabs was denied a third by a tight offside call against the returning Gavin McCallum. We were not as fluent as we have been but Dos said he would have been happy with a scrappy 1-0 and while this was far from that it wasn't up to the level of earlier in the season. What it was, was a hard working performance with some good stuff played, particularly in the first half. Maidenhead scored with their only two efforts on goal of any note but at least they didn't park the bus.
As for the ref, Christ. How Pacquette didn't get a yellow for that challenge on Tom, only he can explain, assuming that he could. We had two very good penalty shouts in the first half but this being Sutton, we didn't get them. Thought he was poor.
So onto The Wood for another tough battle against opposition in the wrong half of the table. Like today's visitors showed, we will have to battle for everything if we are to prevail.

Oh how we needed that. A good result which probably flattered Maidenhead a little. Their two goals were really some very slack defending by us and the anger on slabbers face as he came down the tunnel was evident. We tightened up for the 2nd half and dundo duly delivered the winner. Not much to add from above but great to finally win in league for the first time since Bromley I think.
Ref was a bit of a clown. Slabs yellow was possibly the worst I've seen this season. Getting the ball kicked at you from a freekick when you are walking away is pathetic. Made worse with some of the cynical challenges made in the 2nd half going unpunished. Rubbish reffing.
Mom for me has to be slabs. Got 2 should have been 4. Esp pleasing after some of the negative stuff about him on here in recent weeks. Also impressed with scannell today too and intrigued with the return of gavin. Think he will make a good impression as the season goes on.
Well done for a vital 3 points. Lets hope Boreham wooda pitch is up to its usual standard on Monday which suits us brilliantly.

Thank goodness for this win. Lets get the momentum going again. Reckon that FA cup loss stopped us in our tracks

As said we needed that win today and as often happens when you want to put a indifferent run behind you its like turning a supertanker. But with real effort, some decent football with 3 good finishes we got what we wanted. Defensively we need to take a look because again the opposition created nothing to speak of in 90mins yet score 2 goals, add that to Dorc's one chance one goal last week the pattern is clear. Really good to see the name 'Slabber' touted as MOTM, I never stopped believing that if you give him the ball properly he will score - 'shame on the doubters'! Dundo as so often pops up when we need him, I reckon he could have saved the Titanic, that one 2 excellent but different type finishes by 'Slabs' proving that ball delivery is key. Maidenhead as said a bit physical but battled well and didn't sniff at taking a shot, but on our part I don't remember too many attempts to block efforts at source. One of both goals may have been prevented with a little pressure on the ball? 3 valuable and vital points today....
