Pitch playable in the view of our groundsman

Very solid performance and a well deserved win. Should probably have gone in a goal up at the break after we enjoyed the best of the first half without converting although dundo hit the post just before the break and slabbs screwed the rebound just wide. Hayes kindly chewed up key sections of the pitch before the game doing shuttles, presumably in long spikes, down the flanks despite being politely asked not to as the ground was obviously soft.
Although the pitch cut up a bit it was perfectly playable and we really set about the task in hand second half. In the first five minutes we created a couple of decent chances but we had to wait until just after the hour before scanners took the ball on sweetly and finished calmly after skipping through the defence.
We looked well in control with Hayes only really looking lively on the occasional break. We probably should have had it wrapped before marv, who we've gotta hope is close to full fitness, got our second with a lovely finish close to the end.
So. A morale boosting win where our old confidence seemed to grow as the game went on and we go into the Staines and Hayes away games in good heart and no reason we can't knock up results in both of those which would see us properly back in amongst it.
Thought the lad Harry Osborne who's in on loan from Charlton had a fine debut at right back. Scans motm for me though. Good job the pitch has got a bit of time to recover. On we go.

Just spoke to a Salisbury fan - they were away at Woking today - and he reckons their pitch can't take any more rain. Very heavy and cut up. I'm not holding out too much hope for the return fixture: the Woking area has been hit quite badly by the weather.

Thought we were the better side and deserved the points. Great to see our best centre back partnership together and we were far more solid as a result. Marv showed what we have missed when he came on, outright pace. Put one on a plate and scored one both from nothing much. Nice to win at home again, hope we can back it up in the next 2 away ones. My mom was Clough by a distance.

I agree I thought we looked reasonably solid for the first time in a while although Tom has got to watch his kicking it could be a lot better. I don't think he had a serious shot to save all afternoon and the new boy Harry had a fine debut. I thought here we go again when Dundo hit the post but the lads were not to be denied a well deserved victory which accurately reflected the match itself.
For me Scanners deserves MOTM not only for his performance and goal but his dedication too, he watches all the matches again in full, analyses his game and its paying off, and is a big asset for the club I reckon.
You could sense the confidence that 2nd goal gave us today and I don't see any reason we can't take that forward and put a run together.
When it comes to the pitch antics, very naughty and if it were cricket they would be on a charge of 'tampering' Australian wicket keeper Mathew Wade was suspended for just such a offence. As we saw today H&Y clearly have no use for wide areas at all.

Great result today against not a bad side. Nothing outstanding from H&Y but a solid CS side. I thought today however we finally looked more like the side we were in October, and the main reason for this in my mind is the fact we kept the ball today. One of our major failings recently, even in the couple of wins we've had, has been how easily we've lost the ball at times - in some cases we gifted them the ball, but today that was out of the window. I thought today we looked very strong. As a result of that we played with confidence that's been lacking in the past few weeks.
Great win, and let's build on this, as a few other results went our way today to let us back into the top 5...

Just to add my total disgust with the disrespect H&Y showed SUFC by ploughing up the pitch when asked not to during the pre-match warm up. If that is Mr Babb and his coaching staff bring professionalism to the CS you can stick it.
So glad we stuffed them wih two fine finishes from Damien & Marv. H&Y a club with no ground, no respect and no class.
