I would have to say that Slabber's header is up there as one of best headed goals I have seen from a Sutton player. It reminded me of one of my all time favourites, Peter Drabwell. Thank you Jamie - sensational. Kbb And SUFCtv was there to film it and don't forget to catch a excellent interview with Dos.

A really good show by the U's today with an excellent work rate sustained throughout.
The two Jamies were terrific up front and Charlie Clough was the outstanding defender on the pitch once more. Huge credit to the Management team for getting it spot on tactically moving Dale forward as the game opened up and sitting Dundo as the powerhouse in the centre alongside the impressive Lee Sawyer.
A wonderful goal by Slabbs, peeling off his marker and setting himself to power home his header from a fair distance into the only part of the goal he could have scored from a superb cross by Binnsy. Great celebration too with a healthy and enthused travelling support.
Well done to everyone on a highly satisfactory visit to Melbourne Park. Onwards and upwards.

A well deserved win for the boys - that makes our record against Chelmsford in the CS P5 W4 L1, although they've obviously picked up since they got tonked 6-0 at home to Boreham Wood a couple of months ago.
Today you could see that the side hadn't been together long - there was a lot of good play out there, but there was obviously not quite the understanding that you get with a team who had been together a while. But the senior players in there almost guided the new guys. Couple of great things for me today - Charlie Clough. He plays anything close to that every game we'd forget we ever had Jamie Stuart - class, sheer class today. Also a word about Slabber. There are some in the support who are not impressed with him - they say he's "slow and lazy" - but I'm sorry I have to totally disagree. He is a target man, and it's his job to be in the right place at the right time. He's now got 10 goals in 13 games i think. And his work down the right which lead up to the goal line clearance was superb. It's a shame that Chelmsford boo'd him off when he got subbed.
Great to see Binns finally get his first goal, and agree with above - Slabber's header was superb. The new guys all had solid debuts, but I thought today was Lee Sawyer's best game so far in a U's shirt. And to top it all, after thinking we'd lost JT, it was great to see him back in a Sutton shirt and happy!
With the teams above us either in Trophy action, or due to play a team still in, we move up to 3rd, albeit 17 points behind Bromley.
Just seen Dos's interview which is full of good news - JT and Dundo signed for next year, Dos for another 3....I can go to sleep happy!

The match was hardly a classic, but I have to agree that Slabbs's header was worth the admission money. He seemed to rather enjoy that goal! This was a solid rather than scintillating performance from Sutton, but with so many new players and a heavy pitch that was quite an acceptable showing. After a deadlocked first half we weathered the brief storm early in the second then turned up the pressure when it mattered. Today's result was Chelmsford's first defeat under Mark Hawkes and he reckoned we were the best side they've faced since he took over. So we're up to 3rd and have now beaten Chelmo in four out of five Conference South meetings. Nice to be somebody's bogey side!

The best bit for me was seeing Slabbs' goal after the guy who sold me a programme went on and on at me about how we "nicked" their best player and "Slabber won't score against us, oh no, he won't, just wait and see!"
Take that, Mr Programmes!

Glad that Alex Wynter and David Gregory kept clean sheets and by what Dos said in his interview played well.

A few comments from the Chelmsford forum. I think PD will be pleased with a few of them :-)
That really was a top drawer goal from a great striker (Slabber). Goalkeeper did well with that clearance, that started the move...
Interesting post match interview with their manager - praising us (easy when you've won I know) and even the atmosphere at Melbourne Park! He seems an all round good egg...
What an excellent interview with their manager - let's hope our MT watch it...
City were undone by the class of Binns, Slabber (superb header) and the centre back (Clough was it? Although he moaned, pulled and did all he could to get the upper hand)...
The number 5 Clough was pure class and had Cally in his pocket all game. He reminded me of Clark the way he read the game, and could be considered the best player on the pitch?...
I think Clough was bought for a 5 figure fee for Sutton from Dorchester which says it all really. Sutton were far and away the best team that Hawkes and Smith had faced as the MT..
Binns is a cracking player though....
Sutton brought quite a few and where noisy..
Thought that Sutton gave the best performance of any visiting team this season. We played well, but still couldn't match them. Dale Binns was the main difference, his work rate and pace were amazing...
But once Sutton scored there looked like only one winner and they bossed it there on in. Enjoyable game though and we played well against a good side...

I think Dos is pleased with the result and the performance of our team, rather than the comments of other teams supporters. Mind you, some of that is better than a lot of the tosh written by some opposing supporters sometimes. Good on 'em

1-0, Slabber's header:This must be one of the best photos you have taken Paul. The player and ball perfectly framed, superb.
