Some of you may have seen a retweet earlier today from the esteemed leader from the other side of the borough about us:
"They are decent people, they are ahead of us with their first team, but thats it, apart from that they are way behind"
It's very sad to see that he is now resorting to school kid tactics of "na na na we're better than you" - certainly as we know that some key individuals at Sutton have been approached to come over to the "dark side".
It's also very sad to see this happening in a public place (Twitter) whilst his First Team were getting beaten at home by basement side Cray. Carshalton have now won the least games in the division, a huge 3. But then again, to quote the man "Mens First team hasn't been successful, but our club is much bigger than that"
Such a shame that after what was quite frankly a poor application full of "facts" with no real evidence was, in my opinion rightly, unanimously turned down he has to resort to what is like a tantrum.
Sad indeed.

A couple of things to mention about Mr Dipre, he owns Carshalton Athletic and is fully entitled to take his 1st team to the combined counties if he likes. He is also fully within his rights to spout crap and make unprofessional applications to the local authority. However he is wrong to make assumptions as to where we are in comparison to CAFC.
Our FDP is only a small part of our community aims, and as anyone will see that section has not been updated since about 2011, and Its not rocket science to work out why. Having said that its not just our near neighbours who have been somewhat light fingered while trawling our site. Almost all clubs at our level now show the subject 'community' in the top banner of their website, and fun day theme days are now common place in our league and those around us. So we are in actual fact trend setters and ahead of the game when it comes to almost every club at our level. We are heading the same way with our new media department, video and commentary etc. In a way its nice to be copied because it shows us we are going in the right direction.
Even armed with information and plans laid down by us it doesn't mean that they all have the aptitude, resilience and club togetherness to put it in to action. We can all take someone else's ideas and rush to get a application in first or stick a club badge on every kid that looks at a football but that isn't what being a community club is all about.
Dos has openly wanted a 3G pitch at GGL going way back before Dipre even had his inspirational thought. I don't know why people bother to answer Dipre back unless its the fun of pulling a donkey's tail? Our club has its plans, the wheels are silent turning.

I agree it's nice to be copied. If we're doing the community good, I want to see other clubs doing good for their own communities. No point keeping stuff to ourselves if it might benefit a lot of people elsewhere.
What's less nice is being copied by someone who, rather than give us credit for the ideas (not that he's at all obliged to), claims that he's ahead of us in every way other than the obvious. Why's he using our ideas if they're so inferior?

Whenever I read anything that CAFC's owner states about his own club I have a good laugh. His comment about them being "the pride of Surrey" in that presentation in particular wouldn't have been out of place at last week's Tim Vine event. I do assume he meant it as a joke?
When he starts comparing CAFC with SUFC then the mirth is even greater. The problem with Mr Dipre is that he seems to be clueless to the fact that a club at senior level is gauged on how its first team performs not the fact that he's signed up hundreds of kids through whatever means available to expand the youth section. SUFC is also a club that has more parts to it than the first team; a reserve team that tops the Suburban League, a Youth team that rarely loses and a strong Junior section.
The patronising tweet "that they're nice people.....etc" is even more laughable. Our club is run by people who have been in the game far longer than Mr Dipre and I would suggest by the evidence of the demise of Robins' first team a little bit more caring of their club too.
But let us allow him exist in his little world of fantasy, where we lag behind CAFC in everything else. TBH, I really have little care with regards to what happens to CAFC and looking at their attendances over the past couple of years, not many others do either.

One advantage SUFC has over Mr Dipre's failures is that we have a very very happy band of supporters unlike CAFC

I don't know why people bother to answer Dipre back unless its the fun of pulling a donkey's tail? Personally I think it is important that when someone is making false statements in the public domain (twitter) about our club that they are corrected or challenged. There are those out there not in receipt of full information who I feel need to be made aware. That and yes it is good fun.

By making his timeline private and blocking my account. I expect he's gone out of his way to blocking any other individual who asked him similar questions. Shame as his twitter feed was pure comedy, showing what an insipid man he is.

I prefer to treat him like an attention-seeking child by ignoring what he says.
Events at CAFC may have a certain grim fascination, but I don't think they should have much impact on our club. It looks unlikely that we'll play the Bobbins again as equals in the foreseeable future. It grieves me to say it, but Kingstonian are now positioning themselves to be our local league rivals.

Whilst growing up in the 90s I used to go to watch Sutton and Carshalton on alternate weeks, whoever was at home really. I thought it was a great little club, at least the equal of Sutton on the pitch. The days of Billy Smith, Bolton, Beste, Warden, Cox, Cleevely, Bowyer etc. They played great football and could give anyone in Non League a game on their day. The atmosphere around the place was at least the equal of Sutton too. Alas, those days are long gone.
Now, CAFC is an absoloute joke club run by a joke owner. I wouldn't dream of setting foot in Colston Avenue, even if Sutton were playing them. I feel for Carshalton fans and hope that one day the current owner will not be there. It would be nice to go back there occasionally
As for Us. I remain proud of the club, team and fellow supporters. The people in charge are obviously doing things consistently the right way with respect and integrity.

The local Guardian has an article 'Massey is all about the game' and so he should be. Although he supports his chairman - the man who seems to have no respect for his supporters - the peaople who help to keep Clubs running - for without support from all kinds of directions any club is doomed. Another dispute over the attitude of their feelings towards Mr Dipre causing yet another demonstration is surely not helping to resolve what issues need to be rectified (issues over which Mr Massey washes his hands). With this article in mind I think it would be appropriate if Mr. Dipre concentate on his own problems instead of attacking the likes of SUFC
