Looking at our remaining fixtures and Havant's, Tuesday 8 April would appear to be an option for a re-arranged fixture.

Looking at our remaining fixtures and Havant's, Tuesday 8 April would appear to be an option for a re-arranged fixture. According to Football Webpages, Havant are home to Maidenhead on Mon 7 April (though that's not shown on H&W's official site calendar). I don't think they'd be too keen to play on consecutive evenings. It's been difficult to find a new date for our match against them becuase Havant are seriously behind with their fixtures. That's down to a combination of the wet weather and their run to the Trophy semi-finals. If their game v Whitewhawk goes ahead tonight, they'd still only be halfway through their league programme. They're due to play 2-3 times a week, every week, between now and 26 April. I think Sutton v Havant will have to be scheduled for a Wednesday or Thursday evening. A Wednesday would be preferable if we can find a week when H&W are home on the Monday and we don't have a match on the Tuesday.

If it's the 3rd or 4th April I will spontaneously combust. Having to come back from my holiday once for the boreham wood game is more than enough and missing 2 of the 5 evenings would make me very cross indeed!

Looking on the Havant "Official" site, it states that it was called off as a result of the recent dry weather and minimal rainfall making it unplayable ! Let's hope this doesn't now become a "new" reason for forthcoming games to be cancelled all over the country

I detect the aroma of sarcasm drifting from H&W, Rambo.

The matchday ref who called off Havant's game - because of one soft area of the pitch - was Mark Pottage, who'd been in charge of our match at Eastbourne. A local ref had passed the pitch fit earlier in the day. H&W claim in the local rag that Pottage succumbed to pressure from the visiting manager, a certain Mr S King!

It would be, wouldn't it. That's the only week I would have been able to take a holiday I'd been looking forward to for a year. Holiday ruined, week of annual leave wasted. I could have just about come back for one midweek game but not two. At least the other half can still go, but what a waste of a hotel room. Oh well at least my house will look nice after I spend the entire week home alone doing housework :-)
Not that any of you guys ought to care, but I just wanted to have a rant. S**t happens!

Awkward date for me too (though not as bad as for Sal) - I'm at a conference in Manchester that day and will struggle to get back for kick-off.
Climate change has a lot to answer for!

Seems ridiculously unfair that we have to play 3 home games in 6 days and 4 games in 8 days at a potentially crucial stage of the season. Our small squad and our groundstaff will be stretched to the limit during that week.

I'm pretty sure we're not the only ones. The weather doesn't do fairness, unfortunately :-(
