Will we see the two Jamie’s score in the same game for the first time tonight?
Will you be a Lucky Striker winner?
The draw takes place at half time.

Gosport's recent form has been nothing short of miraculous BUT I cannot see too many of their players wanting to go for those 50-50 challenges with wembley looming so lets rough em up a bit.

Straight forward win. Gosport rested a few including their keeper and it was comfortable with barely a threat on our goal mustered. We never quite got going but had the chances to be 2 or 3 up at ht rather than 1. 2nd early in 2nd half gave us the breathing space to see it out. Another clean sheet and another win which is a very good effort. Had a bit of fear for this one. Last half hour of the game was a total write off.
Officials poor. The linesman 1st half clearly knew a handball was in the area and straight away took a position in line with goal line as you would for a pen but did not make any indication to ref, gutless.Ref ignored kicking ball away which makes you wonder how unlucky Binns was with 1st yellow Sat!!

After Saturday, tonight was always going to be a little low key and one would hope that Gosport take rather more to Wembley than followed them to GGL tonightotherwise one end will be a tad empty.
Gosport are not a bad side but with Sills and Ashhmore both missing at either end of their line up, they lacked a goal threat and the heroics of their first choice 'keeper.
U's could have been 3 up before Gav McCallum's magnificent finish after rounding the 'keeper gave U's a ht lead. Jamie Taylor couldn't quite pull the ball back from a tight angle and Dundo fired straight at the 'keeper when well positioned. U's should have had a penalty for handball. The lino thought so, running round to take his position for the spot kick before realising the ref had only given a free-kick. Shame he didn't have the conviction to point out the ref's error but as ever in the CS we had to put up with some inept decisions tonight. Fortunately they didn't affect the final outcome.
The second half started brilliantly for U's with Gav keeping his feet well under pressure to cross for JT to produce a nice bit of improvisstion to turn the ball home.
Game over and tbh, not too much happened after with both defences keeping out the opposition's attacks.
Three more points. Just hope Micky S is ok after falling foul to a late challenge minutes before the end which was of course missed by the officials but no surprise there.

Agree with Frakeys report. Tonight's game has to be seen in the context of an extraordinary run in 2014. Not a classic but gavs finish was pure class. Did JT knock the second in off his arse? With a good turn out set up for dorch thanks to the club plenty to look forward to as we march on.

Sometimes you just have to win rather than win pretty. To be fair Gosport, even without 2 key players were far better than Basingstoke were on Saturday, and their defending was especially robust. Thought they were the better side in the first 20. The thing that was missing from their game was a potent attack. For a team who will play their biggest ever game on Sunday, they still went for it. They know they need to points.
McCallum finally looks like he's back to match fitness and sharpness - his finish for the first was superb, and was a constant thorn in their side.
Best player on the park tonight was Mr Binns - some of his touches were class and with him you get 2 players in one.
Sadly both Bromley and Eastleigh won tonight, but both conceded. We've still not let a goal in at GGL this year. Out gd is still superior, and keeping that up could be vital come the end of the season.
Were still 5 points behind Eastleigh and they have played an extra game, but Ebbsfleet just below us are in the same position as we are to Eastleigh bar one point.
No way are we giving up this title without a fight.

Gosport had the good grace to describe Sutton as "excellent" in their Twitter feed. We were certainly the better side, and really should have scored more than two goals, but it's the three points that matter. As others have said, sublime finish by Gav - perhaps from an even tighter angle than Jamie T's against Weston - and he set up our second for JT.
Eastleigh and Bromley also won this evening, to emphasise the challenge we face in climbing higher than third. At least Ebbsfleet's defeat last night enabled us to shake them off our shoulder.

Yep not a classic but we got the job done in 3rd gear without ever really needing to shift up. Gosport with their minds clearly elsewhere didn't trouble Jason with our once again superb defence coming out on top on the rare ocassions Borough did get forward. Excellent finish from Gav to put us 1 up before the break but in truth as said we should already ave had the game in the bag. Second half great start poor defending from the Wembley dreamers to allow JT to sneak in front to tap home the 2nd. Job done 3 important points, good to see Wayne back at the lane but Gosport will need to show more on Sunday if Cambridge are not to declare at HT.
The match officials were hopeless getting some very obvious decisions wrong, but it didn't change the course of the match. 433 was the highest attendence of the night beating Bromley's 370, Just 135 saw the table topping side at Whitehawk? Carshalton won tonight but infront of what might be their lowest ever league crowd 69.
Comment of the night to Binnsie from a Gosport player towards the end of the match "We are going to Wembley, youre not"

went to the game last night.
Was a patient grafting win the first 20 minutes Sutton should have been out of sight Taylor was hauled down when one on one was a foul and a red card, Dundo should of scored but it was a decent save and well the handball the referee in fact the linesman as well were appalling all night, the laughable offside that the referee gave at the end when the linesman pointed for a corner was the most moronic decision i've seen in my life.
Gosport rarely threatened and when they did cloughie was always there he was my man of the match closely followed by the man who could play all day and never tire Binnsy.

Yes Binns was quality and my MOM, and Clough was his usual colossus-like self. I wish Gosport all the best for Wembley, seem like a nice club and hope they avoid the drop too. Was impressed with Andy Forbes at Centre half, looked better there than he ever did up top for us.

Poor Binnsy - even his dance at the end of the game was lacklustre - he looked knackered!!
