Looking closely at the equaliser for 2-2 it is difficult to imagine that it was anything but miles offside, especially when you consider that for the goal to have been legitimate both Maidstone players who touched the ball (the receiver and the scorer) would need to have been onside when the free kick was taken. Still, it's done now and I guess you've got to take the bad with the good and just get on with it.

Surely the 1st MU goal was offside the guy is standing in front of JB when the scorer kicked the ball

Can't tell about the second from the angle of shot but the first is well offside. As I said you cannot trust the match officials at this level (or the PL after the Boleyn Ground yesterday). C'est la vie.
