With the Sutton back line made up of two midfielders and two lads promoted from the reserves, one of whom was making his first team debut, it was always likely that our keeper would be in for a busy afternoon! In the event Jason rose to the challenge magnificently, showing his class and experience with a string of fine saves. But Ben King made a good case for being our best outfield player today, a sign of the maturity he's shown since making the step up. It was fitting that Dundo should score the game's only goal on the day he was named Supporters' Club Player of the Season. With all these decisive late goals we've beeen getting lately, it looks as if Sutton have taken a leaf out of Eastleigh's book! And so we end our run of draws against Concord and take a firm grip on 2nd place. A point at Whitehawk next Saturday would seal it, although a narrow defeat would keep us second so long as Bromley don't run riot at Gosport.

Although the ref was ok (I felt he let quite a few heavy challenges from Concord go) the lino on the Collingwood Rec side has obviously forgotten the laws of the game. On at least 3 occasions the Concord no 2 (in the first half) lifted his foot off the ground when taking a throw. I would have been a tad peeved had they scored from one of them. It's not the first time this season I've seen a lino fail to flag for this so why doesn't this law just get taken out of the laws of the game

What can I say that hasn't already been said the entire back line with Brownie put in one heck of a shift to allow the platform for Dundo to steal the spoils yet again. Every week I bleat about JB and today is no different he is probably the best keeper outside the league and tbh I cannot see it being too long before he is back there and looking to gain a few more international caps. Not just the fine saves, but everything about his game is top drawer. King and the debutante young Isaac did fantastically with Kane filling in and they have come away with a well earned clean sheet. Concord are not a bad side and will feel unlucky not to have got anything from the game, but as said they throw everything they could at us and just couldn't crack our boys at the back.
Dos is being sparing with his approach to these final games, its like a ship slowly being inched into the dock, with Marv, Slabs and Binns all coming back at the right time.

Concord Rangers manager Danny Cowley praised his teams performance in their 1-0 defeat at high-flying Sutton United but was left to rue a couple of refereeing decisions that went against his side. Full story via link.. www.footballexclusives.co.uk/apps/blog/show/42141828

I’ll reiterate a lot of what others have already said. I’ve been privileged to see some great goalkeeping performances from Sutton keepers over the years - but Jason’s performance today was up there with the best of them. Young Isaac did incredibly well against a very lively Concord attack as did Lee Sawyer. I think that special mention though has to go to Ben King, not only for what he did yesterday but the vital role he has played over the last few weeks. I was watching Ben over the last 15 minutes or so yesterday and it was pretty clear that he was out on his feet – but he still got forward to deliver a great cross for Dundo’s goal and got back to make some vital clearances. Winning the play offs will be as much about character as ability and Sutton have shown over the Easter weekend that they have an abundance of character – nobody more than Ben. Must finish by giving credit to Concord who gave it everything today and against a lesser goalkeeper would have taken all three points.

Agree with whats been said, except I genuinely felt for Concord who thoroughly deserved a point. At least Dos now has the chance to put out whatever team he sees fit to next weekend with the result unlikely to affect standings. Really hope we play Havant in the semi as a) they have a decent ground and b) yes we know they are a good side but I imagine they are knackered! Two more games this week for them and we should be fairly fresh. Dover would be ok as we seem to do well down there, but would like to avoid Ebbsfleet as it will be extremely tough to win at their place, although they too play twice this week.
Oh and agree with whats been said about King. Yes he misplaced some simple passes but his crossing is superb. I could see him growing into a regular as he has all the basic attributes and is improving with every game.

Personally would prefer Ebbsfleet in the semi but I guess it is folly to judge on one look. Havant show no signs of tiredness with their results and look well set to snatch 4th spot. I think one way or another we will have to beat them to win the play offs. I rate our chances better of doing that in a one off at home . . .
But of course it is all a little bit of a lottery at this stage. I just hope we give it a good go and do ourselves justice. Of the play off sides I would think Ebbsfleet would be under most pressure in terms of fans expectations for getting out of this league.

Although I know it means very little in a play off situation, we've got the best form (in the last 8 games) out of all the play off sides, including Havant. Ebbsfleet have lost more games than they've won recently. Both however have pretty similar home and away form.
