Having not seen the last three games in person, the results on paper are (touch wood) starting to form a slightly more pleasant pattern if you can form a pattern after three games.
This was a comeback from 3-0 which I havent heard of for a while. Usually we cant come back from 1-0 down.

Rainy cold grey skies 3-0 down at half-time playing just the worst football I have seen from us, home supporters taking the mick with clown tunes and taunts of can we play you every week. I thought we were gonna ship 8 and can't remember ever feeling that low at a football match. They say a game of 2 halves but you really could not write this stuff, Nickys opener was a class finish at the end of some neat footwork, Craig's was pure power across the keeper as TD says Warren take note! With 20mins to go will we piled on waive after waive of attack with some excellent holding play upfront, I thought they had seen us off with some amazing time wasting. On around 94mins a corner came in keeper nowhere gowd knows whos head met it but it flew into the top of the net despite the defenders best efforts to keep the ball out. Then que a fraction of a seconds silence followed by scenes of mass hysteria, maybe Hayes are only ordinary, maybe our chances are slim but moments like that are priceless. If we do survive then it will be that second half performance we will look back on as the turning point!!

A dreadful first half, with the defence being wide open were lucky to come off at half time only three goals down. What ever EH said to them at half time certainly paid off, kicking down the slope on a very slippery pitch, Sutton set about their task with a lot of spirit. It must be said that H & Y thought that game had been won at halftime., and they set back and in the end paid the price. Dundas played well and his strength unsettled the H &Y defenders. All the goals well taken and in the end the draw seemed like a win. We were lucky that the other results went our way St.Albans Bognor Thurrock and Welling all lost, so we gained a point in our fight against relegation. No doubt EH learnt a lot from this game.

One simple thing turned the game. Ernie spotted that playing 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 whatever you want to call it didn't work. Second half we come out with a straight 4-4-2 and actually played some football. 3-0 and you f**ked it up

The perfect cliche match. What happened in the first half & then what followed in the second, would suggest U's played two different elevens during this match.
I have to say that the first half was arguably the worst I have EVER seen from a Sutton side, considering the opposition. Once again we had to rely on PW to keep us in the game - if being 3-0 down at ht is keeping us in the game!!
As said elsewhere the 3-5-2 was an appalling mistake which I hope Ernie notes on a piece of paper and leaves under his pillow every night or is attached to a fridge magnet to act as a permanent reminder. Three guys who are just about on first-name terms, playing in a back three that had so many holes in it that, if used for safe sex, would have probably resulted in a birth rate that could equally be compared to that of the Russian couple in the news earlier this week.
But what a turn around. Hayes were reduced to back-pass type shots in the second half and while we couldn't claim total second half dominance, were by far the better team in the second period.
Well done to Craig Dundass for an excellent goal & a hard working performance. MOM for me though had to be Phil for his first half performance without it we would have had to score six to get back on terms.
But all the lads deserve the plaudits for not giving up, especially when one considers recent results.

We were shocking in the 1st half, and when Hayes made it 3-0 i thought that we were on for a massive thrasing. But Ernie and the boys turned it around at half-time, made the right changes and a new team emerged in the 2nd half. I'm not saying we were amazing, but we showed a lot of fight and pride to get the point (our 1st since beating Eastleigh on September the 1st!). Was quite impressed by Dundas, thought he worked really hard upfront, and took his goal really well. But the equaliser was an amazing feeling, worth suffering a massive nosebleed due to celebrating a bit to hard I think not losing today has lifted a massive load off the players, and i think of we play like we did in the 2nd half over the remaining part of the season we can stay up.

Highlights of the game can be seen at www.lemarsh.co.uk/fcvideo/yeading.htmExcuse me if I am misunterstanding the laws of the game, but the decision to award them a penalty was absolute b*llocks. It was obstruction. So it should have been an indirect free kick. Summed up an apalling game by all 3 officials really. Well done to the lads for coming back from the dead like that. Let's build on this now and see what happens....

Nice Highlights , they seemed very cocky at the break and good to hear a big cheer at the end of the game.

Good job the video did not focus behind the goal for the equaliser, I was acting like a right 4 yr old, I think I hugged a Hayes fan and a stantion. I really should grow up but if you could bottle that drug you could make fortune, surprised there were not more injuries during them celebrations!

I'm sorry I missed this one (to take in the joys of Droylsden v Stafford). But at the end of the day we only got a point, and we need quite a few more of them to stay up.
Let's hope that the second half was another kind of point, the turning kind!

Just got back from the MiRMiS gig tonight, a marvellous follow up to a classicfightback.
Once we started playing 4-4-2 the line up worked a lot better, Dundas held the ball up and we grew in confidence. It wasn't stunning but next time we go behind we know we can do that and in our situation, that sort of belief is invaluable.
Had the mother of all bundles at the end, poor Jared got smashed in the face by a Sutton player, Scarbs flung himself over the top, complete with winter coat and much random shouting and hugging occured. Fanbloodytastic.
Something to build on, something to be happy about, come on Sutton!

Sorry if I am being thick. The link does not take me to the highlights. Lists other matches for H&Y but does not include Sutton. Where am I going wrong.

"- Dundas fought like a tiger and scored a terrific goal. " So that's another goalscorer you've poached then- not bad for a team who apparently has a smaller playing budget than us!? Just waiting for Taz to sober up and come on with some warm words, apropos of various posts on our boards last week
