There were less "average speed" cameras in place on Saturday on the way to and back from Whitehawk, the "overhead" 50 mph signs had taken their place. According to the BBC Website, that stretch will still be subject to "variable speeds" as the hard shoulder will now be used as part of motorway, so, yes, Gareth, you'll still need to "watch that speed" !

There are 10 "refuge areas" for drivers who "need to stop" apparently, so hopefully that'll help, they also been putting "if X shows lane is closed" signs up quite a bit recently so I guess, like parts of the M1 near Luton, they'll revert to 3 lanes if they see fit to.

I live on jnc 5, the speed restriction was 50 yesterday but everyone is doing 70: m.highways.gov.uk/Mtf.aspx?road=M25With any delays Sutton -Dover 1 and a half hours if the M20 is clear its a lovely easy drive
