This can not go ahead! A new competition for Premier League and Championship clubs to field B teams will be considered by the Football Association on Wednesday. It is being proposed that the teams could play in a league sandwiched between League Two and the Conference. Another option is to merge League Two and the Conference with the B teams to form two regional leagues. Full story via link www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27289819

If this happened I would lose all faith I have left in the FA - just such a stupid, Premier League centered idea that cannot happen

From my post in another thread touching this subject:
'I don't like the way football is heading. First the play offs, which make a mockery of the league standings at the end of the season, now we may have to endure B-teams playing at our level. What, isn't the Premier Reserve League competative then? This serves to further undermine non-league clubs and potentially drag vital funds away from clubs that are closely linked with community schemes like ours. The Dyke Commission, as it is named, has no concern for community or knock on affects on non-league football and has the rather singular aim of improving English talent. They therefore look to the continent, who have B-teams in their lower divisions, without an holistic approach. These countries have these B-teams because, unlike the UK, they don't have enough clubs to fill out these lower divisions. Here, we have an abundance of football clubs and an extensive and competative first team league structure going right down to county level. Not to mention the reserve leagues. The only benifits I can see is potential increased gates if Sutton play, for example, Crystal Palace B. However, that only benifits clubs at conference level and still potentially drags support away from lower levels which would be disasterous. Would it not be better to improve the youth structure and look at ending the myth that a foreign player must be better than a UK player? Maybe that's a start?'
Feel the FA are losing touch here.

Nope this is Greg Dyke, who has a long history in giving things marketing appeal. This is the same man who brought Roland Rat to TV-AM. This man has a proven track record of improving populist appeal. So in his eyes having a Chelsea B team will bring in more crowds than a decent supported non league side, especially playing sides with s 2-3k fanbase. The FA have been duped into thinking that England will produce more world class players by doing this, and not realising that their financial dream of the Premiership and the outrageous money attached to it has done more harm to the national team.

This is perhaps slightly unrelated but I felt I had to put my anger/frustration on this somewhere on the internet
So I e-mailed the FA a few weeks back enquiring about the Slovakia vs England C game in May. The reply I got was quick and said the game would be played in the Bratislava region on the 31st May. Happy with this response, my dad and I booked plane tickets to fly over to see the game. Today however, after asking what the exact location would be, the FA have replied saying the date has been changed to the 24th May and is being played on the other side of the country, meaning we have flights booked a week after the game and have wasted an awful lot of money due to the FA's failings
This and the 'B-Teams' situation just shows to me how out-of-touch the FA are with the common supporter
