Regarding the SSC, I am in agreement with those who are suggesting we play more reserves in it.
The reserves have been fantastic in recent seasons so a reserve side with a smattering of first team players should be able to compete in the trophy.
For the league, I thinks play offs again would be great. If we do better, that would be great but with only one spot for automatic promotion its always going to be difficult.
As for the FA Cup, knock Arsenal out in the third round and I will be more than happy!

Are you saying £2000 is not worth winning? No What I am saying is that there are greater rewards from the likes of the Trophy and FA Cup. In fact the Supporters Club contribute a greater sum than the SSC which is only paid if you win I’m glad we have resolved that one

The Mickey Mouse Cup should be scrapped in my opinion.County cups are great for the reserves & junior sides but unless there is decent sponsorship for the main competition its only purpose is for the Surrey FA committee to parade around at the final!

It's all relative. £2000 is two months wages for me, in no way is that little reward. It might be two weeks wages for others or pocket money to the lucky few but it is still money available to win that is needed to run the club at the level we want to be at.
Arguably it's worth making it clear the SSC is a competition for fringe first team players (non starting subs) and reserves to prove themselves (So no Cloughy, Dundas etc) but one that is still approached seriously with proper squads and management and training.
With the quality of the individuals involved in those areas of the club we would probably still make the latter stages each year and have every chance of picking up the trophy and the £2000 cheque every few years whilst benefiting from the development of our youth and reserves playing adult senior football.

Scrap them? Why? It's not only about SUFC or current holders Woking etc. The smaller senior clubs in all counties get a rare chance to play some of the bigger clubs (and in recent years, beat them). I don't remember anyone complaining at Sutton when we won it 6 years running either. It was the first Cup I saw U's win and I still think it has a place in senior non-league football. How clubs approach it, is up to them. Scrapping it is just billy big bollocks talk. A complete nonsense.

No way should it be scrapped. Bearing in mind some of the debate that's been had on here about the ressies/youth not playing decent enough opposition, it's vital for them to play in more of these games to gain the experience they won't get otherwise. To me that's a perfect fit.
It's certainly been documented on here that the club has made a loss playing some SSC games in recent years.

The ressies & all the youth teams have their version of the Senior Cup all run by the Surrey FA.My point is,what's the point in running the main cup if its degraded by teams playing their reserves and that spectators don't come out in any great numbers to watch it. Billy big bollocks talk or not!

Who put out degraded teams last year? Ours against K's was pretty strong & Woking took it seriously enough to win it. As they did wnen they won the CS and beat us in the final. Yes, it has happened in the past but not always.
As I say, talk of scrapping it is just stupid. It is for all senior clubs in the county.

Yes we did put a pretty decent team in the SSC, but we ran out of steam in the league with one/two game to go didn't we??
When we can play at places like Selhurst Park, then I maybe interested as I am sure Palace don't give a monkeys about playing smaller teams like us.

So, we lost the league cos of one SSC match? Utter rubbish. We released a lot of the team that played in that match over the following weeks. If anything it was the reaction to our FA Cup defeat at Kiddy that cost us.
