It seems Will Spetch as re-signed for Poole Town... Great shame as he looked a really good signing for us but injuries never gave the lad a chance at SUFC ... Good luck for the future ⚽️⚽️⚽️

I thought he had to retire because of his ankle injuries?

My understanding is that the retirement claims were fabricated

My understanding is that the retirement claims were fabricated Think you may be misunderstood. One can be forced to retire because they cannot physically cope with training but can do at a lower level. I remember Si downer being forced to retire from pro football but yet still did a great job for us. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Marv playing at a lower level where training is lighter. Retirement doesn't mean they are not allowed to ever play again.

I think Marvin wants to playa again so may 'come out of retirement' at a lower level if after a break his achilles recovers to enable him to play. As for Spetch a shame for him and us that injuries prevented his progression. Did we pay a fee at the time? I don't think he did retire and I think it was an error with the report?

.......if Sutton do not get promotion this season, could well see Will next season playing for Poole Town in the Conference South. This is a fixture that would please all Sutton's SW supporters!!! BTW did we pay a FEE for Will when we signed him from Poole Town.

why has a thread for Will Spetch turned into one for Marv Williams? When the real subject of the thread became his retirement, which is something he had in common with Marvin.

I'm pretty sure that the club DID pay a fee for Will Spetch. We don't do shell out on transfer fees very often, so it's all the more galling that he only appeared six times in Sutton colours.
