Man of the match today I reckon, two goal-line saves edged him past Jason and Phil in my book.
Delboy's comment is interesting as it harks back to the complete lack of understanding that he showed on this subject previously. If good players refuse to sign a contract should we just not sign them? Should we pay money that we haven't got to make the contract more attractive? What if they get injured for 12 months and we have to keep paying their wages due to the contract?
Craig is good enough and astute enough not to sign one, it's not as simple as delboy still seems to think. I do hope however that Craig's prolonged applause at full time wasn't a goodbye.

But the bloke on the Bromley forum said he'd signed for them. I guess they've loaned him straight back to us then? Can only explain why he played for us tonight.....

Then again Craig always makes a point of coming over to applaud the fans, can you remember a game where he didn't?
I really hope he stays, the heart, commitment and the pure talent he shows in every game is going to be much needed in our fight to stay up.
A possibly fruitless campaign with Bromley for a few more pounds a week or the pleasure of knowing you had a key part to play in keeping Sutton up?
I know what would be more satisfying.
Incidentally, the confusion over whether he has signed with Bromley or not has probably got a lot to do with the seven day approach shizzle.

What comment?
All i said was that i thought he was one of our contracted players. I was only really just asking the question. How does that show a complete lack of understanding?

How strange that this should appear on the Bromley messageboard before anything's been agreed....I would hope that Goldberg isn't trying to unsettle Craig by making the offer public.
I hope Craig decides to stay, especially now that we've started to pick up a bit

So, trying to piece this together from all the rumours, it would appear that Bromley have made a 7 day approach for Craig and he's thinking it over? Certainly couldn't doubt his commitment last night (losing him would significantly weaken our defence at this crucial time), but if he's offered more money and a contract he's prepared to sign, I would expect him to go.
I take the point about not being able to force players to sign contracts (we've obviously suffered from this one before), but perhaps now there's some extra money available we could make another offer to Craig? This might be better than spending it elsewhere. He's certainly better than some players we do have on contract.

After reading the opening post on this thread i was quite worried, but when i saw Craig warming up before the start of the match i was more than a bit relieved! As mentioned above Craig has always been one of those players who applauds the fans after a game (he was one of the few, if not the only one, to do so after the Cambridge collapse) so it's a bit far-fetched to read to much into that. IMO he has been our best player this season, and it would be a nail into the coffin if he were to leave. However it could be a case of Bromley already having made a 7-day approach, and Craig telling them to do one....

Fair enough, I thought it was subtle reference back to a thread that I can't be bothered to look for, the one that had a long-running spat about contracts! Ernie did say that the best players were on contracts, point taken.

I was told Bromley put in a seven day notice for Graig and he turned them down. I hope that was true!

It would unfair to say who.
However, he is often down the club during the week so I assume he gets to know what's going on.

He walked back into the bar after which is always a good sign.
As with any ankle injury you never know how bad it us until you have given it a few days rest.
