Thought I'd stick this up - unofficialbulls.proboards.com/thread/44345/sutton-united-eastern-fansAnd for a bit more information for those who didn't know much about the dire situation there - For those of us planning to make the journey (including myself) could we do something to help despite having to pay the entrance fee? Like not spending money in the bar or something like that.

They think we cancelled the supporters' coach in support of them? Much as i feel for them and want to support them... if only that were really the case! Still it won't hurt them to think that Sadly I don't have the courage and strength I'd need to boycott this game. I haven't missed a Sutton first team match in over 10 years and am not prepared to break that - and deprive my own team of my support for an important game not to mention our share of the gate receipts - just to make a point and a tiny bit less money for some awful people who are ruining a football club. Bit selfish I know, but I am asking around to see how else I could possibly help

Cobblers.
Whilst I sympathise totally with their fans predicament, this is a cup game where half of the gate receipts go to Sutton, and our team need the support (as Sal said) as much as ever. The best thing we can do is beat them resoundingly so they gain no further income from this competition.
And yes, I do think what's happening to their club is awful and makes the Salisbury affair look like a Disney film, but above all I am a Sutton supporter, and that's the draw we've been given.

When the draw was made I genuinely had doubts about whether or not I should attend. I've been following the Hereford situation all summer into the season, and I felt morally uneasy about going. The people 'running' Hereford United FC make Paul Dipre seem like owner of the year (I didn't go to our PSF at Coldsore the other year because of the situation there.)
However this will be the closest game of the season for me (for those moaning about a 4 hour coach trip, a 4 hour trip to a home game would be a luxury for me!), I'm not working Saturday and amazingly I've never been to Edgar Street, and it may be my last chance to go there as HUFC face a winding-up order on Monday. So I'm going. As Andy mentions above, half the money will go to SUFC. I won't be buying food or a programme etc, I'll be going to support the club I love (and the boys really need all the support they can get at the moment).

Andy makes a very good point there actually. If we don't turn up to support Sutton, then Sutton won't have any support, which gives Hereford the edge, which makes them that little bit more likely to progress and reap the rewards.

I don't think many Sutton fans know enough about the situation at Hereford to make a decision on a boycott. Last week there was a thread about this match on the Conference National forum and none of the Bulls fans who posted there was urging Sutton fans to stay away (although some of them are boycotting games).
Had a Hereford fan come onto our forum shortly after the draw and requested a boycott, explaining the reasons why, I would have seriously considered it. But that didn't happen. I've bought my rail tickets, made plans for the day, and will be going.

Is it just me or do others think this letter is tosh!
Hi Jez, Yeah pal, do remember you and thanks for the email about whats happening at Hereford United. Bloody disgusting and absolutely stinks to high heaven. After all the info you sent me and the copy of the voicemail transcript I will be recommending that the eastern branch of the SUFC DO NOT TRAVEL to Edgar Street on Saturday. Please pass on OUR message of support and solidarity with proper football fans, ie the Boycotters. It must truly hurt not being able to watch something you love so much, whilst all around it is being driven into the ground and from what we hear from their Chairman, a casino! (Is there much call for that in Hereford?) I will be urging all Sutton United fans, not to travel on Saturday and put a penny into the regime that currently runs the club. If there is anything that we can do to help, tell HUST to contact me. In the meantime, tell the true bulls to keep the faith. Alex

I'd like to know who the "eastern branch of SUFC are"...........I presume he means me as I live in Chelmsford lol.......anyway, I'm not boycotting the match, just not attending as a 4 hour drive, alone, to a game and then the same back is just one journey too far for me these days !

I don't know who Alex is, but since he or she hasn't been to the one place where they're guaranteed to be able to reach us - here - I'm wondering if it's a case of talking the talk in an attempt to gain people's trust. As far as I know we don't have an eastern branch. Anyone know any different?

I agree with Stewart - the eastern branch. What guff.
"I will be urging all Sutton fans not to go" - well has anyone been urged to do so? Please tell us if you have. Otherwise it's cobblers.

Given the number of fans we have in the West Country and Wales, perhaps we're the eastern branch
