After another home defeat & gutless performance ( no excuses today) from the team we are all looking downwards at the league table .,, not upwards, I can't see where our next goal is coming from let alone a win, ive total faith in dos and we know he will get it right again ..... But this current team.... Something is not right ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️

My first message on the Sutton forum & I completely agree with u Clive; you're spot on. I just see it all shambolic; la I of organising on the field of play. I don't blame Dos at all; I won't have a bad word said about Dos; no one would do a better job & his finanivisl involvement & passion is amazing. I would like a bigger squad with more options but finances dictate the opposite. I was really hoping we would maintain last years fantastic form but we are taking 2 steps back at the moment. More determination from the players would go amiss & players doing their jobs in their positions - seeing White fight it out on the wing when he should he focused as our main attacking threat. But I believe it can only get better next year for the 2nd half of the season & I do believe we will stay up (not to mention there is a relegation place gone this season) up the U's!

Mouth from bottom,we are I a relegation battle, and will be lucky to finish mid table at this rate, any one who still thinks we will be in the playoffs is living in cloud cuckoo land

No, we are not in a relegation battle at all as far as i can see.In fact that's laughable !
In a poor run of form maybe.

I've watched Sutton in relegation battles & i can assure you this is not a team in danger of relegation. Not the greatest performance yesterday but Whitehawk are on a good run of form.

We don't want to fall into the trap of believing we're too good to go down. As we discovered in 2007/08, the Conference South is an unforgiving division once a struggling team loses touch with the pack. There are no weak sides at this level, so a team that's lost the winning habit soon sinks.
All that said, I'm not seriously worried at the moment. That's partly because I have confidence in Dos. But it also helps that only two go down at the end of this season, and it looks very much as if Staines have already booked one of those places. (They're nine points behind us, with a much worse gd, and a game more played.) There's also the possibility of another club folding during the season, or at least drastically cutting its budget - many of us will have heard the stories about Hayes & Yeading.
It's also worth reminding ourselves that during our first four-year spell in Conference South we finished in the bottom half every season. We've perhaps been a bit spoilt by all the top-six finishes since then. As long as we avoid the drop, a bottom-half finish in 2015 would hardly be a disaster. Then the rebuilding would undoubtedly begin again!

I've watched Sutton since the 60's,,it might not seem like a relegation battle, but you will surprised how easily it happens.I'm not to worried at the moment because I'm confident Dos will keep us up,but we have to improve and rebuild in the summer

Relegation battle? No, not even close. Look at our last relegation battle. 18th was the highest position we achieved all season. And by the time we got to the 8th game of the season, we were in a relegation spot for the remainder of the season. That is a relegation battle, and even then, there was a short period in time where we had hope and a few decent results in January. We've got a 100% record against the sides below us (beaten Staines and Farnborough, and yet to play Weston). I agree with the current squad and their sum weekly performances that thinking of a play off spot now is well beyond us, but it was reassuring to hear Dos for the first time this season not getting behind his players - for him to do that there is something very wrong (which for us watching is all too obvious to see). This after a few weeks ago him saying that the core of this squad would be what he would like to see us in the Conference with is a sign of how let down he is.
But as I've been saying time and time again this season, it's our performance level that's been totally disappointing. Only once could I say hand on heart we looked like a Dos team (at Whitehawk), and whilst yesterday was especially poor, I don't think it was our worst league performance of the season (I thought at Ebbsfleet we looked worse).
AA is right - no team is ever "too good to go down", and this one is far from an exception. But we've lost 7 games out of 18. 39% of games. Staines nearly 80%, Weston nearly 60%, Farnborough 60%. If we duplicate the same number of points for the rest of the season we will be on 46 points. That will easily be enough to stay up. And that's by having as bad 2nd half of the season as the first half.
Relegation battles do not exist when you've played less than half of your games of the season and are not adrift by about 10 points. We're doing sh*t for our standards, but we have high standards. Doing sh*t by our standards does not equal a relegation battle.

I was in London on Saturday but couldn't escape to get to the game. Obviously it's another really poor result and I think the team need to wake up to the idea that we could well get relegated. I saw the (lucky) win over a very poor Farnborough and a fairly witless defeat to Hemel. Most worryingly in both games we just hoofed it. No wonder crowds struggle when it is £12 to watch some pretty poor football. Relegation would not be a complete disaster in my opinion. The club can be successful at the next level and that brings excitement back. I really don't know if we can sustain the budget to be at the sharp end of CS.

Unbelievable comment from wiltshire.Relegation is just not on the agenda and no i don't want to go back to watching Ryman Premier football at GGL. Bit harsh. Maybe they like us playing Met Police, Hornchurch, Grays, Kingstonian, Tonbridge et all I do agree with you though. Relegation is not on the agenda, and thinking about that is almost as silly as thinking that we will get in the play offs. This will be, at worst, a consolidation year. Although I'm not saying that we've not performed this season, we have had some bad luck with injuries and some awful decisions (like Spillaine being sent off against Bath) and luck does have a way of levelling out over the course of a season. Like I said before, if we are JUST as bad as we are now we will still easily have enough points to stay up. And we will stay up if there are 2 worse teams than us. Some may find that hard to believe, but there are at very least 2...

We won't get relegated in fact it won't even be close, yes we might end up mid table but thats no great disaster. We are not actually defending that badly, and we could have played no differently and had 6-9pts more simply on refs decisions we have hit the inside of the post 3 times this season, I did note that Whitehawks went in off the post which just goes to show the luck has gone AWOL, but it will come back. Binns, Hart, John will all be back at some stage and we will get stronger.
In the interim I don't know why we don't put Dundo up front, he can deal with balls played high and generally speaking if he is lurking around the oppos box he tends to find the net. HarryO did look good out wide on Saturday for 20mins or so.

Sort out our home form and I'm sure we'll be fine. We've only won twice at GGL all season, and the last of those was over three months ago. We used to have a pretty solid home record under Dos. We need to rediscover how to score three or more on our own turf.
Away from home I think we've generally been OK, Ebbsfleet being the only really poor performance on our travels.

Can't understand why our home form has dipped so badly,we used to confident of a victory nine times out of ten.we need to turn GGL back into a fortress
