Certainly a better view not, well done for a clear sighted management desist on. Comments please Silver Fox (: I agree with "not", so no surprise there! The updated photo is the same as my view of the pitch, through the home dugout, as a volunteer steward in the tunnel area. Add all the bodies sitting and standing alongside during the game and you can see that it is a formidable barrier! This is, or was, a last chance to relocate them back from the pitch. The 'technical area' would now appear to be on a down slope, not the most comfortable of positions to stand, although we will have to see where the sideline is located. Bring back the old 'allders' ' dugouts & indeed the old pittch!

I personally think the 3G is a very positive financial step forward for the club

I popped down to the ground today to see how the the work was progressing. It is hard to believe the ground will be ready for next weekend fixtures. Fingers crossed

Why what needs to be done?

Why what needs to be done? The new surface is about 75% done. There will also be a general clear up of the site/ground. SCRFC friendly has now moved so the first game will be on Sunday v Bristol Rovers.

The SCR friendly on the 11th was never scheduled to be at GGL. We also have works scheduled for our car park this week; pot hole repairs and fresh lining and signage.

The performance of the 3G pitch seems to have been close to optimum so far and it is being used much more than I ever imagined. I have seen several games and only two unexpected bounces so far(less than you get on grass!), although one of those lead to the penalty incident involving Ross Worner.
I appreciate there is a drainage system under the surface, which itself is porous, but during rainfall water does seem to collect on the surface a bit more than it did on the grass. Would brushing help to alleviate this?

Would brushing help to alleviate this? After the rain today the Youth match tonight, 24/8, will be an interesting test for the pitch in as much as whether the game can go ahead in the first place and secondly how it performs if it is still raining during play
