Dos has already said that the development side will be used in the SSC this season. That's expecting a lot from an untried & tested team the standard of which he hasn't seen. I don't see what the expectation is, it's a chance for them to play, the better they do the more games they get. As far as I'm aware Dos doesn't consider it a priority but recognises it's merits for those players.

I'm curious, the academy is linked up with Nescot so are the players in the academy going to be around 16-18 years old?
If so it could be a tough ask to play against some good ccl side for example.

Does it matter? Surely an opportunity to look at some players.

Dos did state at the meeting after the Maidenhead match that the development squad would most likely be the team that represents the club in this coming season's ssc so hardly a major revelation.
I assumed the dev squad will be older than the academy which appears to be u19 and younger.

The Academy is definitely young players, they have to be the students signed up with NESCOT. The development squad will comprise the most advanced players from our youth team (OK, still under-18s), first teamers who are not getting game time or are recovering from injury and triallists.

I guess the Development Squad players are expected to be mostly U21 and they will play in a different league than last year, but what else?

As far as I know the DS will not be in a league unlike the old reserves so there should be an annual saving on overheads.
