After having the dubious pleasure of working in Hampton and trying to get there at lunchtime on Boxing day you are advised to give yourselves plenty of time to get there @2hrs if you are going by car! Boxing day sees Kempton Park stage its flagship meeting with the King George VI stakes. The whole area will be down to a crawl from morning until around KO time, the traffic is known to stretch back as far as the Scilly isles round about. You have been warned I am not looking forward to it Hampton will of course already know this and it may of been a factor in the KO time

You can cut out a lump by going past the Met police ground.

X26 bus is probably the best option to Kingston station, then the 111. Looks like the X26 leaves Sutton Post Office at .03 past the hour

I used to live 60 seconds walk from the Beveree, so it would have been great then to play them Boxing Day.
If people are arriving nearer to 3.00 then the Kempton crowds should already be in the racecourse. It's more of a problem for our team.
If you do want to be there early and wish to avoid stragglers heading for the racing, then use the M3 and come off at the A308 Junction. Head towards Hampton and turn right at the t-junction at the end, then veer right at the fork in the road just before Hampton village. Station Road will then be on the right. Very little parking in the side streets, should be room nearer the station.

I think I will leave late to avoid the bulk of the racing traffic and put up with the problem of parking when I get there which should be a little easier with Sunday parking restrictions in place.
