Not the best performance tonight but we eventually ran out 3-0 winners after a really dull 1st 45 minutes.
Thank you again for all the support we recieved tonight from the people who braved the cold/wet weather.
I just lastly wanted to wish everybody who is involved with Sutton United (Staff & Supporters) a Very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year from everyone at SCR and thank you again for making us feel so welcome at your home ground.

I thought the team stuck at it really well in dreadful conditions, and got their rewards in the second half playing into the worst of the rain and wind. I can only assume they were expecting Redhill to have a go in the second half and SCR put them on the back foot with the early goal (which I assume was the plan).
The pitch seemed to be playing a tremendous part from where I was. Not sure the game would've finished on grass?
Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to all concerned (at both clubs).

I went to the game with a long-suffering Redhill fan. Apart from a bright first 5 minutes when they had a couple of decent opportunities, Redhill were as poor as the weather and hardly mustered anything of note for the remainder of the match. I think, during the first half, they dragged SCR down to their level. Neither team seemed able to keep the ball for any length of time and clear-cut chances were at a premium. I was beginning to wonder whether the SCR players had Vase matters on their minds. To their credit though, they upped the tempo in the second half and after scoring the opener within ten minutes of the re-start when Redhill's defence went AWOL, the result was never in doubt and it was just a matter of how many. Curiously, all three second-half goals were against the very strong wind. I can only remember one wind-assisted long shot attempted all game long. I reckon Stuart Hemsley might have had a successful wallop from the half-way line!
