Good game at raynes park. Three two win over chessington. I see from the wealdstone forum their pitch is totally shot and even a good drying morning like we've just had makes no difference at all when it comes to draining a swamp. Sounds like the early inspection was just going through the motions. They knew it was going to be off

Just had text from Match Sec, game OFF today Hi! any redress bearing in mind that they have had 3 weeks or so to put the pitch in playable condition? Redress? SUFC would have been bankrupt if that were in place with some of the problems we suffered on our previous surface, that comment must surely be tongue in cheek.

Absolutely. Not very impressive for a Conference South club. Erm you are kidding right? Yeah I think it's supposed to be an old joke given that it's the National League South now

Didn't you know? Wealdstone's ground staff have the ability to control the weather!

I thought it was Harrow that were able to do that - using hoses...

Not commenting on a redress remark.Just that Wealdstone's last home game was December 5th and you would think that the club would do all they could to get the game on for a bank Holiday crowd. It's been wet but all i can say is that their drainage must be dreadful and i was under the impression that all "National League sides had to meet a certain standard ".

Maybe they did do all they could. I agree it's not good enough at this level, but if they have a pitch as difficult as ours used to be but without the benefit of the amazing ground staff we had, you are going to run into problems or need to find thousands of pounds to fix the problem. As a result, there are some truly dreadful pitches at this level. Havant and Hemel last season spring to mind. I guess it's also a big part of the reason why we invested in our new pitch when we did. Again, I agree that this is disappointing and we should be able to expect better. But there are a few people around here who seem to think certain things are fine when Sutton are doing them and a bloody outrage if anyone else is

Its very disappointing especially for those that have travelled a long way as people do over xmas.Dos seemed to have hinted in his after match thoughts that he didn't expect the game to go ahead and that was on Saturday evening.

Yes, I travelled from Edinburgh and have missed out on 2 days with my family. On my way back now - an inconveniently late flight as my daughter will be in bed by the time I get back. But hey, what can you do? S**t happens. There will always be games called off at this level.

A pity about the postponement today as I was really looking forward to going but sadly these things happen. I wonder when the re-arranged game will take place as our January is already looking pretty chocker - surely a midweek in February.

Wasn't there a rule put in place about these ties having to be played within something like a 42 day period? Something in the back of my mind similar to this rings s bell.

It's worth pointing out that Wealdstone v Sutton was one of three matches in our division called off today. The pitches at Havant and Weston also failed morning inspections.

I got to say that our pitch is playing fantastic in these conditions. We probably have one of the best playing surfaces outside the premiership at the moment. To know we don't have to worry about rain and frost is great and I am sure others will be eyeing our pitch up with envious eyes. But we do need to upgrade our floodlights, maybe add a couple of extra bulbs on each?

It's worth pointing out that Wealdstone v Sutton was one of three matches in our division called off today. The pitches at Havant and Weston also failed morning inspections. And no surprise there at all. If Hemel were at home I expect their games would be called off too. Both of those pitches are notoriously bad. And as for the pitch being not good enough, even after only one game on that month, then I think you've underestimated how much rain we've actually had - if you've not been keeping up with the weather, we've had a few storms recently and although we've not been affected as much as other parts of the country, there have been a few nights recently where it's really tipped it down overnight. As all is not equal in this league, some grounds cope better than others. It just so happened it affected us, but it would have been the same if Wealdstone played anyone else. Toys back in pram please, we follow National South football, we should be pleased that this is the first time this has happened this season.
