Serious class from Burge and Bailey but my MOM was Downer, their #9 hardly saw the ball
How on earth did the lino give offside against Dundas in the first half?

Serious class from Burge and Bailey but my MOM was Downer, their #9 hardly saw the ball How on earth did the lino give offside against Dundas in the first half? Have to agree there. I was level with the play and it wasn't a question of if he was offside but more like how many of the opposition were playing him onside one of them by a good couple of yards

Dundo was clean through by the time the lino flagged and looked odds-on to score. Dos was furious about that decision.
I agree that Downer had a great game, but if the opposition is playing with a lone striker then a centre-back's job should be less difficult than usual. Early in the second half Dos replaced a defender (Spence) with a striker (Slabber) and our three-man defence still managed to cope with Weston's sporadic threat.

We lacked a bit of composure/precision/class in the final third. Important 2 points dropped. Shame we couldn't get Tom one on one with the left back more often, he roasted him every time. Agreed Downer gave a usual master class, cigar out for him all game. Not sure I quite agree with Dos' view on Weston which I put mainly down to frustration. They certainly got numbers forward 1st half and gave us the odd problem, Downer heading off the line on one such occasion. 2nd half they got deeper and deeper and will be delighted to come away with a point. A bonus one they wouldn't have been expecting and who knows may keep them up come season end.

Can't agree with Downer's 'flawless' performance. I'd relegate that to 'good' apart from two appalling passes in the second half, one nearly resulting in a goal and one directly leading to Eastman's suspension.
