Without wanting to take away anything from the fantastic season ticket news today, we've got footballing matters to concern ourselves tomorrow....
Ebbsfleet are at Bath and Maidstone are at Wealdstone. I can't see either of them coming home tomorrow night without max points in the bag.

Could be an interesting one, Weston were scoring goals for fun a month or so ago, 5-5, 3-3 and 5-2, they're not putting so many in the onion bag now, and are still conceding a few, hitting s bit of a bad run more recently. It's a game we need to win obviously, we've got to be confident of 3 points on form alone.

Weston's away form isn't bad at all and they are scoring a lot of goals, but the teams they've faced recently have been mid table or below - in the last 8 games the only top side they've faced away has been Gosport (which they lost), and of course on Tuesday lost to a St Albans side who we beat at a canter on Saturday. In that same 8 away game period they've beaten Wealdstone, Whitehawk and Chelmsford - all of which are in that mid table position. This certainly is their biggest away test for a while. As are their next 3 league games - Maidstone home and away then home to Ebbsfleet on Good Friday evening...

One thing for sure is that WSM will play on the counter, they will sit deep and hit long.

Our second 0-0 of the season. The word 'frustrating' was uttered a few times around GGL this afternoon! I don't know how many goal attempts we had during this match, but it must have been comfortably in double figures. Unfortunately they were all off-target, blocked or saved. The nearest we came in the first half was Simon Downer's header from a corner that was cleared off the line. Our best chance in the second was probably Ross Stearn's late shot which went just wide of the far post.
Weston brought two fine saves from Ross Worner at either end of the first half, but most of the time were defending deep and relying on the occasional counter-attack.
With Ebbsfleet and Maidstone also drawing it's as you were in the top three, although defeats for Gosport, Truro and Dartford mean we've strengthened our grip on a play-off place. If we're going to close the gap on Ebbsfleet before Easter Monday then we'll have to rely on our away form.

I am not sure WSM are due any credit, we simply failed to hit the target, Ken Dodd might as well been in goal for them. We did everything else ok, but if you don't hit the target you don't score. Maybe next season WSM can get a double decker bus and we can let them straight on to the pitch with it. And I would like to see Tom B run from a bit deeper, he kills defenders when he has a bit of space in front of him to run into. At times today he was to tight with defenders.

Being positive, we did play well. We made plenty of chances and we did not lose.

What yesterday proved was we can't win every game even if was as frustrating an afternoon as we have witnessed this season.
The way WSM was set up we needed an early goal but Fitch, having got onto the pass, couldn't convert and it set the tone for much of the afternoon as defenders, the 'keeper and our own profligacy resulted in a 0-0 draw.
Ross did have to make three good saves and we gave the ball away a couple of times leading to break away attacks or in once instance, Craig E's tenth booking. But for the main it was relentless pressure on the visitor's goal. Tom B had two headers he would have hoped to hit the target with while Ross S shot narrowly wide late on. It was his crosses that caused much of the mayhem but in the end we couldn't profit.
WSM will be happy with that point for sure. Ref did ok but once again we picked up 3 cautions, no argument with any of them but why did their fella not get done for his challenge in the back of Tom B? He also was poor at working out what 10 yards is.
Onto Godalming for SSC sf.
