I have to say that I agree with the comments about Lee Maskell.
Shortly after he arrived I defended his performances saying that he probably wasn`t match sharp or match fit. I now feel that may well have been wishful thinking . To play in midfield you need to have a number of qualities and sadly for us these are not on show at the moment. With Bash & Honey they never stop harassing, challenging and supporting and most of all dont look like they are coasting along for the ride. Poor touch and passing gets better with continuity of games. Effort and desire should always be there no matter what. With suspensions looming maybe we should have a peep into the reserves? After all they are there for a reason, and the likes of Dean, Harry and Tommy haven`t done a bad job so far
With regards to Harry O and starting him from the bench...... why not start him? What are we saving him for? What have we got to lose? It`s not as if whoever takes his place on the bench is scoring week in week out ( Obviously I`m not talking about CD here ;D)
I felt that the team were carrying at the very least two players yesterday and to play with the on field equivalent of 9 men is a major handicap. We need a team that plays more like they have at least 12 players on the pitch, if only to combat some of the refs decisions !!!! Although I have to say that yesterdays ref was pretty good and certainly one of the better ones we`ve had. ( I`m not sure, but I don`t think he even booked Bash for the penalty. Maybe he thought we were in enough effluent already ! ) Motivation, hard work and commitment are what is required, along with luck. We have absolutely no control over luck but we do have control over the other ingredients.
