Again, so near (well, within a goal) yet so far.
Couldn't fault the fight and the effort from the team today but it sadly still hit home the lack of a final finish we have in the side.
The class of Williams shone through for their goal and the idiocy of the officials robbed us of a chance for a point.
Why we still persist with Hughes and Maskell i will never know, they add nothing to the side and i'd rather see Scooby, Henry or even my mum in midfield ahead of either of them.
Ah well, positive signs but we need a midfielder and a striker from somewhere. Preferably big nasty horrible b*stards.
Sod having the right attitude, just get somebody decent in to bolster the side.

Lots of effort in 2nd half but, again, no cutting edge. Unfathomable how the referee and linesman just bottled the penalty decision. Dundas was clearly wrestled to the ground by their embarrassed 'keeper, and, by the letter of the current law, would have to have been sent off. Such decisions decide the fate of teams.
Two or three years ago when we were dumped out of the FA Cup at Hayes Lane, we had the instruction to "f**k off Sutton" ringing in our ears as we made our way down their ill-lit alley to the main road. Yesterday we were informed on a regular basis that an element of the home fans liked nothing more than to "shi' on the Su''on" come evening-tide.
All very charming. The total absence of enunciation of the letter "t" was especially grating to the senses yesterday - three of them in four small words just completely by-passed! Honestly! What has happened to the appreciation of the importance of elocution and diction in our schools today?

Anyone else just really am tired of this season? If it ended tomorrow, it would be a blessed relief. It's been over since October for me to be honest. We're only getting out of this if the Conference throw out 3 sides for crap grounds. And that ain't happening even if there were 21 grounds worse than ours in this division....... With you on tha Taz. I am absolutely hating this season to the extent that I do wonder sometimes is there is anything else I could be doing on Saturday afternoons. I'm sure common sense will prevail though. It's not so much the thought of the Ryman although I was hoping we were shot of that when Conference South was set up. It's not so much the actual relegation, I have been there and proud for 1991 & 2000 (were there any previous relegations in the clubs history?) It's the fact that for me, there is just no light at the end of the tunnel. We are awaiting the miracle that I just cannot see happening.

The attempted fightback in the 2nd half was encouraging, but it shouldn't mask the fact that we were as awful as anything I've seen in the 1st half, and despite moments of pressure in the 2nd half we produced one shot by Harry which went just over, and a shot by Rob Hughes which was weak and went wide. Whereas Phil had to make some good stops throughout the game, and Tom Hughes cleared the ball off the line late on. We should of had a penalty, but I think a draw would of been unfair on Bromley IMO. We offered nothing in attack, that's not to speak ill of the efforts of Dundo and Harry who both worked hard yesterday, but they were working alone for the most part with little or no help from the their team mates. Since St Albans we have played 4 games in the League, all of which we have lost, and looked 2nd best in (apart from Newport arguably). In those 4 games, we have scored a grand total of 2 goals, whilst letting in 10. That's why we're doomed, and let's make no mistake we are more or less doomed now, and quite frankly we deserve it, and it hurts me to say it, but it's true as far as I can see

The thing that I will remember most from yesterdays game, was not the football, but that I had the misfortune to be watching the 1st half in amongst the Bromley fans. There was one fella in particular who was obviously an attention seeker who thought everyone around him loved him. sad thing was, it looked more like they were laughing at him rather than with him. Several Bromley fans moved away as they had young children with them and the tirade of abuse that emanated from this pratt was too much for them to take. He was a fully unevolved knuckle scraper who without doubt was a covert intellectual ( One who shows no outward signs of intelligence whatsoever ) It`s pitiful to see fans who behave so selfishly ruin it for there own supporters. I wonder if he found himself a venue and advertised it, whether anyone would turn up to listen to him. I think not. Sadly we were a captive audience

Sadly we were a captive audience I think we have a fan who fits that description quite closely.
