Its odd really. Warren was an automatic start under Hazel, not just this season, but from when he joined us the previous one. As soon as his place in under threat his attitude did change. Some players rise to the occasion, whilst others just don't. This is why man management is the most important attribute of a manager. You could list manager upon manager who have suceeded with a team of not much quality, and those who have faultered with big names, because they cannot 'manage' the players.
You don't need to be a good coach to be a good manager, there are others that can do the coaching, but there can be only one manager.

I could post this under this thread or the Jason one, but when a new manager comes in there is always players that don't like the change whether its Keegan at Newcastle or Ernie with us. The main thing is that as a team we are better than we were under the previous management and those that do play are giving 100%. Warren might be a big hit somewhere else his ability is not in question but for us when we needed him he wasn't there. JR and Hazel were quite laid back in their approach, Ernie is a lot more school teacher like Sir Barry Williams was and some players respond well under that approach and some don't!

I posted on here a few times that I couldn't understand why Ernie was playing Dundas up front on his own. The few times that Warren did (arrive in time to be in the squad) play, he was out wide.
I don't understand why Ernie didn't try Warren alongside Dundas, persisted with one up front. As soon as Steffan arrived, Ernie did go two up front and played Steffan alongside Dundas.
If I was Warren, that would annoy me. With regards to attitude and timekeeping that may have come in to it of course but the question for me really is why not play WB and CD together up front? If he did try that, I missed it, apologies!

This messageboard is littered with such comments: If we had support for CD we would be climbing out of trouble, just one player that's all we need. One lapse in defence other than that a decent performance.
I'd question starting with Scarborough, Haverson, Henry and McBean all on the bench.
McBean definitely seems to constantly dribble himself up blind alleys and goal scoring wise he's gone right off the boil, but you still always get the feeling something might happen when he gets the ball. Surely we won't get rid of him unless we get someone really decent in his place, would we?
this just leads to the aimless long ball up to Craig and I think to combat this I would play Harry off Craig's shoulder or Bring Warren into the centre with Craig Good News is Buns now 2 down

Warren could however do us some big favours if he nets again for Eastleigh against Welling on Saturday to help them win.
Incidentally, i'm guessing his contract with us expires at the end of the season?
