So with the pre-season friendlies now out of the way (much to the delight of some of you), the proper stuff starts on Saturday. How does everyone think we'll fare this season? Can we better our very respectable 12th placed finish of the last campaign, will we go far in the FA Cup again? Is our name on the FA Trophy this season?
- League Position: - FA Cup round: - FA Trophy round: - Most exciting new signing: - Player of season: - What would constitute a successful season:
Interested to hear people's opinions..

League position: 7th-10th FAC: 3rd round Trophy: semi-final(at least) Best player: TW/JT Best buy: in abeyance Overall season: 1st third so-so, then picks up well and finishes good without having the stress of FAC run. Maybe a season to consolidate with a chance of lower playoff positions.

"the well known Rory [sic] Deacon" Not exactly what one would call an informed opinion.

Some very odd final positions there suggest they wrote that in a hurry to say the least.

Some very odd usage of the Queen's English too.

I did think twice about posting that link. The author is a Hartlepool fan so his knowledge of this level of football may not run very deep. If Dos and the players see the prediction then I'd hope they'd be motivated to prove the guy wrong! But it's also a reminder that there are few obvious candidates for relegation this season. Any part-time side that starts slowly is probably going to struggle.

We're going to be one of those sides that's is going to be hard to predict. I don't think "outsiders" are going to as wildly predict the final position of Tranmere as near relegation or Solihull as going for the title are they?

A bit more sane than the previous predictions! Anyone who thinks Walton is our best signing clearly has never seen players like Davis, Jeffery, Lafayette etc, who are proven players at this level. I don't make predictions but I'll be happy to finish 12th again, as long as we start reasonably well so we don't have the nagging worry that it's all going to go pear shaped. I'd love to see us win the Trophy; the FA Cup all comes down to the luck of the draw. A good performance against a L1/2 club is the height of my ambition until our number comes up again in 20 years or so - not that I'll be around to see it!

If you view Woking's prediction thread, approx 6 think we will be in p/o's and four in the relegation zone. Rather says it all really, i.e. what a load of old tosh this lark is. Fun for some i guess.
I will predict that we will have to put up with some crap refs, especially oop north, it will cost a few bob to watch U's on their travels this season and I will swear audibly at least once during the season. Safe as houses those three.
