On the other note of poor old Hartlepool, they’ve gone 1-0 down against Wrexham

Well done, boys! The hell is going on at Fylde? 6 goals against the league leaders and Danny Rowe not amongst them, amazing.

Well done, boys! The hell is going on at Fylde? 6 goals against the league leaders and Danny Rowe not amongst them, amazing. Not even a consolation goal for them. How sad.

How did the ball stay out of the net in the first half? Delboy sums it up well but my mom was Simon Downer. He was excellent all game!

What a tight league this is this year. As Fylde showed today any team can beat anyone. Just reminded myself of our 8 losses this year, and only 2 were against teams currently in the promotion/play-off spots, the other 6 against teams 12th or below. I haven't checked for the other teams at or near the top but I wouldn't be surprised if they had a few similar losses amongst them. No doubt come the end of the season there will be a lot of "what might have been" thoughts about certain games and results.

Going to watch it all over again shortly just to check if the ref was as bad as i perceived him to be. Have a look at the 24th minute goalmouth scramble...................

Our first 'double' of the season, the game ending 2-1 to Sutton, as it had at Victoria Road in September. On that occasion we needed a stoppage time winner, but this afternoon we looked to be coasting at 2-0 until an 85th minute reply from the visitors perhaps reminded us of the missed chances before our first goal, with the frame of the goal proving to be Daggers' best defender on more than one occasion! Overall a deserved win, which briefly lifted us to 2nd before Aldershot's home draw saw them reclaim that place. Having recorded BT Sport's coverage, I'm now about to relive those 90 minutes.

Couldn't be there and had to watch with no sound. I await Mark Frake's verdict on this referee with interest. I can't believe the ref thought the back-hand hand-ball, which was clearly in the area, was accidental. Other than that he let too much go, which the Daggers took as an excuse. Sutton struggled to build attacks that were not halted illegally in the first 30 minutes - it seemed every time we interchanged passes in their half the attacker was pulled back, tripped or body-checked. At the other end Evans handling like a kitten with a ball of wool caused more worries that anything Dagenham created for themselves.
A brilliant opening goal from Tommy, it is so easy to lose balance when cutting the ball in from a narrow angle. Then Harry's return - demonstrating again his ability to deliver a corner to meet a colleague - showed what we have lacked in that department. Tom gave one the finish it deserved. I felt we sat back and let them back into the game, instead of keeping the ball up their end and JC left his man who had a tap in for their goal. Overall a fine performance, the Hendon game attack kept its place on merit. With that set-up an overlapping wing back isn't needed so a strong and defence-minded back line was used to great effect. A tactical masterpiece - congratulations!

Such a brilliant day, result, team, club ... - last 6 minutes were a bit hairy but they see it out to the end - very proud 💛

Excellent performance. Performances throughout the team. Thought our midfield central 3 were fantastic. Kenny Davis probably shaded my MOM but the other 2 were right up there with him. Such energy in there now. The fact we don't miss Nick Bailey just shows how far we have come. This squad are very capable of going all the way. Hopefully more of the Sutton public will start to roll out to watch this team.

The 2-1 score line doesn't really do U's performance justice. But for a couple of hairy first half moments and the last ten minutes after D&R had scored, Sutton was by far the superior team. Probably should have been over by h-t as three times the woodwork came to Daggers rescue and Craig E fired over from six yards, albeit on the stretch.
The lads played some great stuff today with Craig E, Harry B, Tom B and KC causing the visitors all sorts of problems. The energy, passing and off the ball movement was a joy to watch at times with only the end product lacking - mainly due to misfortune. Louis John was prominent too as an attacking option in the first half and his left foot cross was turned onto the bar by Cousins, who had a decent game. However, he played a role in U's opener.
Scott Doe and Cousins had a massive mis-communication and TommY W darted in took the ball round the 'keeper and scored with a low shot from a tight angle. It took Tommy W to ten league goals thus far. The second arrived soon after Tom B back heading home Harry B's corner. It was only what U's attacking play derserved.
Thereafter, U's were happy to relinquish possession a little but even so D&R posed little threat to U's goal with the back four terrific (how doses Simon D keep producing like he does - what a competitor?). Then form out of the blue they scored. A cross from the left found their no 7 totally unmarked and he set up a simple finish. Game-changer. Daggers went for it and U's were forced back but defended under considerable pressure with aplomb. There was still time for a U's chance though and Dundo went so close with a clever looping header that had Cousins scrambling back and he just managed to scoop the ball away before it crossed the line.
So, U's deservedly took the three points on a wet old day at GGL in front of another decent crowd. I thought it was a decent game for the BT cameras and even another mystifying performance from Mr Rock couldn't spoil it. Not his best day for sure. Can't comment about the handball in the box as my view was obscured but there was definitely another later that he just ignored (outside the box) and in general he was highly inconsistent with his decision making; ignoring obvious fouls only to give the more obscure. Cannot complain about our two yellows though. D&R fans reckon they should have had a late pen but their players didn't seem to react much to the non-award.
A great team performance today, once again demonstrating that this squad can play a number of ways, depending on the conditions and the opposition. For the most part our defending was superb. Skip showed his versatility today while Simon D and Terell T were excellent at the back. is there a better centre-mid than Harry and Craig E in this league? Their energy and guile is superb and with Kenny D working in front of the back four, it was great to watch. Last word for Tommy W though. Worked his socks off as the loan striker and took his chance so well. Fast becoming one of the best finishers this club has seen in some while.
Long trip north to Barrow. Bedse and Diarra await and even though they are having a difficult season, it will be another tough fixture. Just hope Joe Johnson ain't refereeing it.

Great all round performance today and very happy to see us come away with the 3 points. Played some lovely football at times, popping the ball about and some brilliant build up play. Thought Tommy Wright was brilliant, worked tirelessly for the team, think he would have had more chances if he had one of Dundo or Laf up top with him as he was out pacing their back 4 all match and could have benefitted from some flick ons, but as Dos said in his interview the plan as to have the 3 smaller lads up top to open the back 4 up and expose them.. Was concerned with our casual defending at times especially under pressure when we needed someone to put their foot through the ball but instea we were dinking it about at the back and nearly got ourselves into trouble a couple of times. However saying that my MOTM was Downer, he dealt with everything, won every tackle, comfortable on the ball and looked to be back to his very best. Special mention to Beauts and Tom Bolly who both put in shifts in the middle and did not stop chasing and running all match. All in all very happy, another big milestone to do the double over a very good NL team.

In terms of progress, we've now won as many league games (15) as we did during the whole of last season, with a third of this one still to come. And we've now got 52 points on the board, so are effectively safe from relegation!

Anybody else notice that we almost gave away a penalty in the closing minutes? Fortunately, the Dagenham player chose to stay on his feet after getting a slight clip. It would have been pretty scandalous if they’d have had an opportunity from the spot to nick a point because for 80 minutes it was almost total domination. Overall, an absolutely superb performance.
