Sutton is hosting two games, May 31st and June 2nd ko 15.00 and 12.00 respectfully, the other games are quarterfinals I believe. Ah, I'll be in Barcelona then. Too bad.

The kick-off times might be a bit inconvenient for some (i.e. weekday afternoon).
This is my understanding of the fixtures allocated to us:
Thursday 31/05 Group match, Ellan Vannin v Cascadia [kick-off midday] Group match, Padania v Matabeleland [kick-off 3 p.m.]
Tuesday 05/06 Quarter-final, Group A winners v Group B runners-up [kick-off 3 p.m.] Quarter-final, Group A runners-up v Group B winners [kick-off 6 p.m.]
Thursday 07/06 Match between two bottom-placed teams to determine final placings [kick-off midday] Placement match between two losing quarter-finalists [kick-of 3 p.m.]
Group 1: Barawa, Cascadia, Ellan Vannin, Tamil Eelam. Group 2: Abkhazia, Felvidék, Northern Cyprus, Tibet. Group 3: Kiribati, Matabeleland, Padania, Székely Land. Group 4: Kabylia, Panjab, United Koreans in Japan, Western Armenia.
Apparently, the second venue is to be announced next week…..Whyteleafe perhaps? (on their 3G).....or Carshalton?!!

The "nations" that we know we're hosting are:
Ellan Vannin - Isle of Man Padania - Northern Italy Cascadia - North-West US and South-West Canada (don't claim to be a separatist movement, but a cultural grouping) Matabeleland - Western Zimbabwe including Bulawayo

Sutton is hosting two games, May 31st and June 2nd ko 15.00 and 12.00 respectfully, the other games are quarterfinals I believe. I meant the qualification procedure. Basically, because a lot of the teams struggle to travel for varying ethno-political reasons, they allocate points per game based on the strength of the opponents (3 points if the opposition are CONIFA members, 2 points for any other international opponent, and 1 points for any other opponent (e.g. against a club side - Western Armenia played against Marseille reserves)). However, to stop a team from overloading it's games, especially in Europe for instance where it's easier to travel, only the 10 games that they gain the most points are used Some teams qualified through other means (such as Tamil Eelam, who won the CONIFA Challenge Cup in 2016, Felvidek, who won the Hungary Heritage Cup comprised of 4 teams representing Hungarian diaspora, and Abkhazia, who won the last CONIFA World Football Cup). These are joined by two Wild Cards - Western Armenia and Tibet this year , decided by the CONIFA Executive Committee.

In Cornwall, we have looked into trying to become part of CONIFA as, due to the Cornish being recognised as a National Minority, legally they can enter. Unfortunately it seems that funding for participation would have to come out of existing Cornwall FA funds, meaning it is not going to happen. This is a real shame as there is a big appetite in Cornwall for it.

A quick question for our three Mongolian Rally hero's. Are Ellan Vannin and Ulan Bator engaged? Two more disparate places would be hard to imagine. One once described as "60,000 Drunks clinging to a Rock" a similarly inaccurate one liner for the other would be "1,000,000 Miners freezing to Death." I don't think there is a capital city further from the sea than Ulaan Bator. We ship to Vladivostok and the Mongolians put the cargo on the Trans Siberian Railway.
