What with these arctic like conditions we're currently experiencing, it got me thinking if I've ever seen the Sutton play in snow (but I haven't).
Any particular stand-out memories of the U's playing in the white stuff from years gone by?

St Albans Away 15/16, we had rain, sunshine and snow all in the first half! What a day that was even on the clubs birthday!

Wivenhoe away. Can't remember the year but we had a snow storm just before kick off & the orange ball came out.

St Albans Away 15/16, we had rain, sunshine and snow all in the first half! Kind of referring to snow that's settled on the pitch..plus I think it was sleet during that game - I remember it!

I remember once helping to clear the GGL pitch of snow in a vein attempt to get match played, only for the under surface to freeze causing the match to be called off anyway. Late 70s I think, and may have been against Wycombe but my memory could be wrong?
I have got to admire Dover's optimism in trying to get their match on v Orient tomorrow. They have covers on the pitch and snow to clear before they can remove them. Can you just imagine what the surface will be like if it hasn't frozen underneath?

Seem to remember playing Redhill in blizzard conditions, must have been over thirty years ago.

Arriving at Boreham Wood (twice) in midst of freak snow storm for last minute postponement; another reason to not like going there!

Bit vague but i think there was another one v Hampton in about 1996? Or it might have been Walton Casuals. Possibly Isthmian League Cup or SSC. Match abandoned due to snow.

Home to Kingstonian? I joined some volunteers to clear the lines (I think the rest of the pitch was left covered in snow?) Chris Kelly played. We were 5-0 up at half time and that's how it stayed. The referee slipped over and landed on his arse. (Ok, I made that last bit up)

You may be thinking of the Isthmian League Cup tie played in January 1997 against Hampton. It was abandoned halfway through the second half, but due to a rapidly freezing pitch rather than snow. We were 2-0 up at the time (although we still won the rearranged fixture).

Seem to remember playing Redhill in blizzard conditions, must have been over thirty years ago. We played them in the SSC in February 1983. They were 2-0 up courtesy of Gary Flemington, who joined us later, when the ref abandoned the game on 38 minutes. We won the rearranged game 2-0! In December 1967, we got a very late equaliser in a London Senior Cup match on a snow covered pitch at GGL against Tooting & Mitcham to bring it 2-2. We went on to win 7-2 after extra time and I still remember how cold my feet were!

Recall the K's game in 1970 and how disappointed I was that we didn't add to the five first half goals (it gets a brief mention in Tuesday's prog).
The Redhill match; that snow came down heavy and fast around tea-time. Barrie Williams handed me a shovel and broom to clear the lines (it was hot work despite the freezing temperatures). The match should never have started and had it gone the distance the six consecutive SSC wins would probably not had happened.
One other snow "incident" I recall was at Woking in January, 1981 in the Trophy. The players went of at h-t and within minutes there was a blizzard and by the time the players returned it had vanished as quickly as it had arrived.
