Hard fought 1-0 win there today. Thought Solihull held their own at times and made it very tough for us to get a second and push on in the match. As expected they were no mugs and after seeing us struggle to beat teams scrapping at the bottom of the table I was happy to get the 3 points. Even by NL standard the officials were terrible today, I think the ref thought everyone was there to see him.

Meant to say can anyone tell me what the man with the yellow flag was there for, was it decoration?

Incidentally, two 7-1s were recorded in our division today. That can't happen often!

Unlike Tuesday when we had Mr Rock doing a fine job in the middle, today's referee was totally the opposite. It took all of 5mins for everyone in the ground to realize his deficiencies. I think he probably had the biggest influence on any match we have played this season.
In the end it was hard fought 1-0 win against a side fighting the drop, I am not sure some of their antics, such as chucking themselves on the floor at every opportunity really helped them at all. Their left back was good, but I am a little concerned about our right back position, like Woking on Tuesday, if the away side were to get anything it would have been from there.
Fantastic Goal from Bolly, fast getting back to the one we know. Also good to see a well deserved POTM for Simon Walton.
9 games left, and we have every chance being handedly placed for the final furlong...

I understand that Sutton Utd today passed a points milestone, the 69 now amassed surpassing the 68 the club finished with in the Conference in 1986/87, the previous highest tally at this level of football.

Whoever did that fantastic tackle in the box in added time gets my MOTM, the guy was just about to slam it in, and a leg comes out of nowhere.. edit - just had a sneaky look at the video, it was Tommy B with the tackle..

And mathematically we now can't be relegated! Even better is now 5 teams can't mathematically overtake us either..the current bottom 4 and Hartlepool. Avoiding defeat next Saturday will add Maidstone to that list.

More a game of chess between the dugouts than a game of football.
Moors set themselves up to use their speed on the break, which required them to sit back when they did not have the ball in order to draw enough Sutton players forward. Dos countered this with a 4-2-4 line up which at one point had 4 U's forwards man-marking Moors back 4. Yes it was that way round. This tactic forces a team hoping to counter-attack to get the ball out of their back 4 while under pressure, reducing the long ball accuracy, and forward earlier than they wish. Sutton executed the plan well with only one obvious flaw that I could see. A corner provides a great opportunity for the defending side to launch a counter-attack when the opponents back four are all up-field for the corner. It is essential the corner kick trajectory prevents the keeper from claiming the ball. Harry failed to do this twice. The keeper caught the ball, threw or kicked it out accurately, and Moors had a dangerous break.
I thought the ref was too lenient on late challenges and body-checks early on, and spent too much time on lectures with no cards. The crowd was on his case by half time, but I thought the ref had a much better second half.

I mainly agree. I'm gonna defend the ref a little bit. I thought Solihull were very aggressive from the start and he maybe thought it could end up 7 a side If he dished out cards from the 1st whistle, hence the constant long, boring lectures. It didn't really work out as it got a bit nasty and there were a few dangerous tackles going in.

Officials - Carl Brook in shocker shock! Paul has some great shots of the Solihull defender's reach-around on Harrison. Nothing given yet a clear red card offence....
As for Mark Yates - odious! Has a team that clearly has ability yet engages in tactics best kept for wind-up dinky cars set for a demolition derby.
