I haven't seen a run-in thread yet so here we go - one that can be updated as we get nearer and nearer the end of the season. Although it does look like a two-horse race between Macclesfield and ourselves, I have included Tranmere's games as well because they are lingering.
Games remaining: Macclesfield: 10 Sutton: 9 Tranmere: 9
Saturday 17th March Boreham Wood v Tranmere Dover v Macclesfield Maidstone v Sutton
Wednesday 21st March Maidstone v Macclesfield
Saturday 24th March Macclesfield don't play Sutton v Chester Tranmere v Eastleigh
Friday 30th March Dover v Tranmere Maidenhead v Sutton Woking v Macclesfield
Monday 2nd April Macclesfield v Chester Sutton v Bromley Tranmere v Solihull
Saturday 7th April Chester v Tranmere Ebbsfleet v Macclesfield AFC Fylde v Sutton
Tuesday 10th April Boreham Wood v Macclesfield FC Halifax v Sutton Tranmere v Gateshead
Saturday 14th April Macclesfield v Leyton Orient Sutton v Hartlepool Tranmere v Aldershot
Saturday 21st April Eastleigh v Macclesfield Ebbsfleet v Sutton FC Halifax v Tranmere
Saturday 28th April Macclesfield v Dagenham & Red Sutton v Aldershot Tranmere v Hartlepool
tbc Macclesfield v Gateshead

Disappointing to note that Solihull are only involved in one of those matches. I saw enough to think they'll finish strongly.

I think anyone in the playoffs should be considered, not just the top 3. We are unbeaten in our last 9 or 10 games. If a few others replicate this run of form then it's going to be close and very exciting.

I think it's very optimistic saying it's a 2 horse race. Anything can happen between now and the end of the season.

Meanwhile, down at the bottom, points for Halifax (3), Solihull (1) and Torquay (3) in last night's fixtures.
Still plenty of work for Orient and Hartlepool to do to avoid the ignominy of successive relegations. Of course both clubs thought they would be strong enough to bounce back up, underestimating the difficulty of this league.
It will (as usual) be interesting at both ends of the table over the coming weeks.

Boreham Wood missed a chance to go up a couple of places, drawing at home to Maidenhead. Halifax's 3 points last night I think pretty much makes them safe barring a disaster. By the time we play them I think they will be a mid table side with little to play for - they're as close to a play off spot as Torquay in 22nd are to them. With the upturn in form of Solihull, timall is bang on the money about Hartlepool - they need to be looking over their shoulders and get a decent return on points from their remaining games, else our game at home to them on 14th April could well be a battle for survival. And that's even ignoring their off-pitch battle for survival.
FWP and their final league table algorithm is currently showing 76 points to get a play off spot and a minimum of 46 points to avoid the drop. I still think that's about right at the top, but I think any team who finishes with less than 50 points could well drop, especially if there's a clutch of clubs battling it out together down there. Taking that as the yardstick, I think Torquay and Chester will struggle to get 20 points in their last 9 games. They play each other on Good Friday, and Chester's run in includes playing us, Aldershot, Macclesfield, Tranmere, Bromley and Boreham Wood.

I think that Barrow might struggle as well with those extra games to play?

I think that Barrow might struggle as well with those extra games to play? Very possibly - especially with Solihull's upturn in form. Those 3 extra games are not impossible though - home to Hartlepool, home to indifferent Eastleigh and away at Guiseley (who could already be relegated by the time that game takes place). In terms of top 7 clubs though, they only have Aldershot away, home to Dover and away to Boreham Wood.

I'll update the opening post fully in a bit but I'm guessing a few eyes will be on the events at Macclesfield v Gateshead this evening. Up the Heed!
