A few years before I started supporting Sutton admittedly but 25 years ago today the U's recorded what is perhaps regarded as one of their finer results in recent history - the 3-2 win at Wycombe Wanderers in the first leg of The FA Trophy semi-final.
I'm sure slightly older supporters will have great memories of this day (not so much the second leg which we sadly lost 4-0).

Still up there as one of my favourite Sutton games of all time. For those who don't remember it, just think of it as the Dartford game of last year with less goals but just as much excitement, and the underdog winning!

I can't believe that was 25 years ago! I remember both of those games so clearly. Makes me feel bloody old!

I remember watching the first leg on teletext! That's how long ago it is. I was still quite young, at primary school. For the 2nd leg I remember thinking how impressive the away following was!

I remember the game well, a real roller-coaster of a match. Wycombe, then managed by an up-and-coming Martin O'Neill, were such a strong team (on their way to the non-League double) that to beat them on their own patch was a fantastic achievement. (Let's not dwell on the second leg!)
3 April 1993 was also the day of the all-Sheffield FA Cup semi-final at Wembley (Wednesday beating United 2-1). And racing fans may recall that it was the day of the calamitous Grand National, declared void after most of the riders failed to realise there had been a false start and carried on round the course.

What a day that was! Totally amazing and had us dreaming of going to the twin towers. Alas it was not to be an inspired Steve Guppy and a young Keeper between the sticks for the U's saw us battered.

For some reason I remember the attendance for the home leg - 5002.
