As some of you who know me are aware I suffered a series of heart attacks and had 2 surgeries over Christmas and the new year....(great timing body thanks!) Anyway just two months after my 2nd op I am running the Brighton 10k this Sunday and the Hackney half marathon on the 20th May. Both of these events were booked before my issues but I have decided to do them with the British Heart Foundation as my obvious choice . So if you could spare a pound or two that would be amazing Donate Here

Sorry to hear the news. I assume you are a runner as I'm amazed at how quickly you have recovered.
Good luck.

Sorry to hear the news. I assume you are a runner as I'm amazed at how quickly you have recovered. Good luck. I am not a runner in anyway shape or form unless it is on a football pitch. All started as a joke when I said a couple of years ago I was going to run a marathon at the dinner table which caused hysterics with my family..."you will never do one" ... in 2 years I did 2 marathons 2 half marathons and a 10k and raised over £5k. Dr's said it was probably the fact that I did these that I am alive to tell the story! I got the all clear to resume excercise last Wednesday...I am never to do anything be half measures so why not

Who knew you could do that so soon after surgery? The miracles of modern science eh (with obvious acknowledgement to your determination and hard work). I absolutely love running and would certainly miss it if I couldn’t do it. Guess we take these things for granted.

The surgeon told me hearts should only go for around 50 years as it is! I hate running but no plenty who have the running bug. I missed being on a football pitch drove me mad but thankfully the weather has wiped out most of the games.
