Maidenhead have had a decent first season in the National League and as mentioned elsewhere on this thread have completed the double over us.
I caught on twitter that apparently Devonshire reckons a few will leave in the summer as they're not on contract - well I wouldn't mind us nabbing Massey, Barrett and Pritchard off them for starters!

Wouldn’t mind signing that Harry Pritchard, seems like a decent player!

Sutton didn’t want it enough for me last night, said that if they conceded 1st their heads would go. They just seem to have run out of steam and lost form at the wrong time. We only got going after Easty scored on 87th and barely won a 50/50, flick on or knockdown all night. Very frustrating at times. But full credit to Maidenhead, they got right after us and never gave us any time on the ball, and deserved the 3 points.Their front two dominated the back 4, but as with the home tie their best players in my opinion were their two midfielders 4 & 8. If I had to pick a MOTM for us I guess I would say Jamie Butler because of the pen save. Massive game against Ebbsfleet now on Saturday and even bigger vs Aldershot the week after.

Dos's scathing post match interview said most of what I intended to say. It is strange how confidence can drain from a side and it shows in the usual ways, passing rather than shooting, laying the ball off rather than taking the man on, positioning yourself as a defender in the expectation your colleague won't win the ball off the attacker in possession.
The less obvious signs of malaise show up first: one has been when there are two target men on the field always aiming for the same one, and not passing to a man on the wing who lost possession when you last did so.
If you could pick the most daunting away game in the league it would be Ebbsfleet, who lose less often than others. So Sod's law of football needs to come into play because it is the least likely outcome: we go there, they make a few catastrophic errors and we punish the lot.
