Aside from the result, today's side totally responded to the aftermath of Tuesday. Played with energy, passion, determination and intelligence. Up there with the performance of the season. Special credit I think goes to the defence, who didn't put a foot wrong.
So we're in 3rd and avoiding defeat next Saturday will keep us there. Only Aldershot and Ebbsfleet can catch us, so getting a draw means we will be at home 2 weeks Sunday and 1 win from Wembley.
Top top draw stuff and us who have kept faith have been rewarded in fine style.

Incredible result. Really liked the look of the side selected for this one, some fresh (or fresher) legs included. Great to see Josh properly back. Sets up next week. We should go all out for the win.

A huge thankyou to the players and management for today. One word - Awesome.
The goal - masterpiece. The celebrations - monumental. The journey home - ecstatic. The table - OMG. My glass - filling back up rapidly.

Sorry Nathan, but I had to curtail watching as all I saw and heard was your fans singing. Very little of the game and dead silence when we scored. I'm sure your fans get something out of your blogs, but it didn't do much for me. Chin up mate. BTW the "since I was born" song a bit embarrassing as Ebsfleet haven't been around THAT long. Perhaps our forum won't give you the encouragement you need, as your blog, really was all about you and today that match was all about us!!!

I am surprised young Nathan ever captures any goals on film. Most of his blogs he seems to be facing away from.the pitch simply filming his mates singing. But it some like them.

Some clubs will take the video down if it has goal footage so it’s best not to film them so there isn’t any risk of the video being removed

Onto the game , fair play to you. The better side on the day won. We were hampered by injuries and illness, but you were quicker and more up for the fight. Surprised so few pf you guys came. Only 45 mins by car and a 2400 capacity terrace for only 198. We still have a decent chance of sneaking a play off spot, but we will need to be a bit better, wiser and attack minded. Good luck in the play offs. Would rather meet you at Wembley than Tranmere!

I'd just like to be at Wembley whoever it is.

We had more than 198 there.. I don't think you could ask for better from the lads today, maybe they huffed a puffed too much for the win, as we were the better side by quite a distance. I don't think Jamie had anything hit at him all afternoon such was our defensive display. Good to see Bailey back to his best and Louis put in a fine shift too. Boli showed us his class again, the ball seemed glued to his foot, and what a finish, pick that one out Ashmore The referee was a bit of a homer, ignoring every ill by the home side which included attempts at strangulation. And my only other slight quip is our delivery from crosses, it was bloody awful. We have secured either 3rd or 4th in the top division for the 1st time in our history, and are 3 wins away now from the EFL, and in truth we can beat anyone..

We have secured either 3rd or 4th in the top division for the 1st time in our history, and are 3 wins away now from the EFL, and in truth we can beat anyone.. Firstly, I have to say that I believe we can come 3rd in the league. Pressure is off us next weekend as we have secured a home game for our first playoff match. There is more pressure on Aldershot as a defeat could mean missing the playoffs. We have actually secured 3rd, 4th or 5th. If Ebbsfleet win both their remaining two matches and Aldershot beat us, then we will come 5th. To be honest, if we don't come 3rd, then I hope we come 5th. Means we avoid Tranmere away in the semi-finals (even though we beat them there in the league game) and I'd rather play Aldershot away in the semi-finals as Aldershot would be third if we came 5th. Of course, that is all an assumption that we would win our home game in the quarter finals. It will be interesting to see what Aldershot will do next Saturday. A draw will ensure they come 4th or 5th, however if they lose, they could miss out on the playoffs altogether. Will they be open and attack minded to try and get the win for 3rd spot or will they close up and be defensive minded to secure a playoff place with a draw?

I should be talking to JC tonight from 9pm on LOVESPORT RADIO (SHAWIE - Wayne that is works on a show there sometimes on a Saturday afternoon) hopefully keep him engaged for a few minutes so if you get a chance tune in otherwise I’ll ask the producer to clip the IV so I can copy and paste it onto the forum.

I don’t think they have any choice but to go for the win given the reward at stake. And it would also be extremely high risk to leave yourselves at the mercy of a single opposition goal. Of course they may have also qualified for the play offs by the time the game comes around and on the balance of probabilities they will most probably qualify even if they were to lose next week.
